612 reverse lever fix

I bought a set of 6 so I'm not sure which one I ended up using.

 

Finally I managed to repair my 612's broken F1 lever, using Hill Eng part. This part is made of billet Alu, instead of cast (correct me if I'm wrong) original part - see pictures.

As others said before, it is an easy process:
1- turn car bat killer switch off
2- remove 4x bolts holding the module to the console
3- once module is out, turn it upside down and remove brown plastic cover (caution)
4- remove 1x center bolt that tights the electronic board and lever mechanism together
5- remove 1x bolt that holds the broken piece to the lever chrome plastic cover - this is a very small bolt - Torx T6. It was a headache to remove it.
6- clean all gently
7- reverse steps and enjoy your "new" F1 module - remember that now you need to pull up and push back if you want to reverse the car!

Great stuff - glad to actually see the new part works.

This should save folks plenty of bucks, as my car had the whole assembly replaced - thankfully, before I purchased it - and that cost thousands of dollars.

In the process of replacing the F1 lever, which has more substantial posts, obviating need for the little brass grommets. One problem: when disassembling the box, the black plastic dooflicky connecting the lever to the receiver fell out. Is it possible to reinsert and reassemble to test?

 

any one get the plastic bit broken, how would u fix that?
