As noted earlier in the thread, we handled this at the bodywork stage with the appropriate L-shaped reinforcements.

The typical cracks you see are actually caused by flex.

outstanding color combo. it leans more towards the elegant scale as opposed to the sporting look.

 

Funny you say this, because elegant is exactly the word Patrick Mimran used to describe his color preferences, and his cars reflect this.

For example, his 1957 Ferrari 250 GT Boano 0547 was a version of Bordeaux.

Yes indeed, not to go too far off-topic but, speaking of Bordeaux Supercars, this reminds me of the fabled McLaren F1GT (58F1GT) that was built in a version of Bordeaux metallic for its Japanese owner.

The dimension specifications in the factory Homologation illustration below are not very detailed.

We are fine-tuning the suspension and ride-height of GLA12997, and it will be helpful if anyone with a standard unmodified Downdraft can measure the exact ground-clearance rear of the front wheels and fore of the rear wheels, using the point where the spats meet the riveted sill as the front & rear measuring points from the ground.

My QV fulie,non skirted,oct 87 prod date, is unmolested/7k mile car, if same set up as dd,this might be helpful.
Dim taken where flat black riveted lipp meets curved body panel below door, front of rear wheel back of front wheel, both side of car(4 points) all consistent with 128mm , car has been sitting for 2 months, in exact same position

 

Side note, my car is also converted to Euro bumper using factory parts,

Is the 128 mm from the ground to the bottom of the sill, or to the point the sill meets the curved body-panel? I think latter, just checking.

 

A Downdraft club member wanted to know if the hood latch units were painted over, and the answer is yes, here you have just a glimpse of this on an original car.
