Your right, I will get my car on a dyno soon and baseline my car to see where it's at. I'll post my results as well.

Here is another 4-1 design header that is different in design to fabspeed/ap/ipe that really doesn't get much discussion. It is the Supersprint header and is currently used on Glickenhaus' P4/5 Competizione, which happens to have a Scuderia engine. Made of German 304 SS.

37 hp gain and 30 lbs torque gain w/ 100 cell HJS and a non x-pipe supersprint muffler. Might see more gains with an X-pipe muffler.

Here is an F430 with supersprint headers + Kreissieg muffler (x-pipe)

Might be a header worth looking into. Reasonably priced as well.

Supersprint should be considered one of the premier exhaust manufacturers. Thanks for posting.

Looks like no flanges on the headers, so you can't use OEM main cats with these? You have to buy the entire exhaust system to use these headers?

That's correct. SS quite often do this in conjunction with larger diameter tubing when the stock part is found to be restrictive.

The SS headers are the best on the market.

Mark, why do you say that? Is it there design? They are not very well known/accepted out there for Ferrari but certainly for other makes.

I am sure if you ask them to put the flange on they'll put it. I believe they are just showing off individual parts of their full system which is held together slip-on style and v-band. If you look at their description, they can offer the muffler individually and to do so, it would need to come with factory matching flanges instead of a V band.

"If you're looking only for a more involving and sportier exhaust tone and don't want to replace the manifolds and the stock cats, the "cat-back" setup is recommended. It's composed by the rear exhaust + endpipe kit."

Also, the video I posted is of a car with just the headers and Kreissieg muffler, so it most likely indicates any of the individual parts will come with a flange upon request.

This is probably one of the reasons people don't consider their parts although they are well-made. They lack a bit in the promoting department.

USD to Euro is close to 1:1 if anyone is curious. They are open to group buys.

Here's a link to one of the posts by a Supersprint employee dating back to 2012 in the 355 section.

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/354079-introducing-supersprints-355-full-modular-exhaust-system-3.html

Championishop is no longer around so there really isn't any sponsor pushing Supersprint products. Also, back in 2012, USD was about .65 Euro, which made these parts quite expensive.

What is the price range for their headers?

Msrp is about $3,600 before VAT. I am not sure if they have to charge VAT for international sales or if they are selling to a U.S distributor.

The design and quality of manufacture. Everything they do is dyno developed not just tested. Have a look here: FERRARI F430 Coupè / Spider, Ferrari, exhaust systems

I have Capristo on my F430 but the Supersprint parts are in a different league.

On a side note, I only stumbled upon the Supersprint F430 after having researched for a 355 header. I already have a Capristo header on the Scud and not looking to change. I was trying to see if any others were interested in their 355 headers, which are beautiful and thoroughly equipped with brackets and shields. As far as I can tell, their stuff is well-made and well thought out. I think their stuff could be better if made in 321 SS for better heat retention and weight savings, but at least they are sourcing a high grade German 304 SS. I believe their headers are 1.5mm thick. There was also some rhetoric about producing headers in inconel for other cars, so maybe they might be open to producing components in your choice of steel.

Perhaps a group buy could be put together for 355 and 430 components:).

As far as I can tell, the Supersprint headers are well put together and have much better or at least better looking welds vs my Capristo header. However, Capristo does come with a very nice heat blanket, made of 309 SS, and has a unique 4-2-1 design. But if you are only comparing between how these headers are put together, I would say the Supersprint headers show superior craftsmenship .. at about 60% of the price.

The heat blankets are a very nice feature of the Capristo. I have them on their headers and cats.

The ideal for me would be SS exhaust and Caprito blankets.

The blankets whether Capristo or Fabspeed or other seem to be interchangeable. I do find it interesting that SS has rarely if ever been brought up as a viable solution. I would have certainly considered them.

Looking at their dyno chart they seem to have the same dip in power in the same range. Furthermore they are extrapolating data to guesstimate what the power is to the crank so who knows what they are really making to the wheels.

I would like to also add that the setup I had installed with the tune is damn good. I am making a significant amount more power, lighter components, runs cooler and phenomenal sound. The tune really helped maximize the bolt on's and dial everything in. It is so good in fact that I was considering getting a 458 but it is so raw now I would have a tough time separating with it + I love the looks of the 430.

Regardless of which manufacture's headers are installed a tune is required to address the dip in the power band. We now know that removing the original headers (cats) skews the A/F ratio. Now the question is.... which toon to choose?

I learned from an industry pro that there are only a few actual programmers that have created and modified the code and others resell their products. As long as the company you choose has the ability to make changes based on the data provided by the dyno tech then you are good. Also your shop needs to be committed to doing the right thing which could be more time consuming to get it right.

For example, my car was initially done incomplete. IAP went back to the tuner and had them make changes based on the previous results. They made additional dyno runs and provided more data to the sw company who then modified the tune accordingly and you saw the difference. This should have been done to begin with but for whatever reason it wasn't but they made it right.

The true test now is to run a stock car. :)

I genuinely wonder how many replace headers as a precaution but don't install a tune in order to make the car run correctly.

Gh21631, do you know if they used a piggyback, Cobb, or ESS to modify the ECU on your car? The last dyno is a much better and closer to expected result. Thank you for posting.

There are clearly some very nice exhaust aftermarket products. Highly tuned naturally aspirated engines are very difficult to extract more power from. Virtually all aftermarket performance parts are exhaust, plus tune to optimise. A lot of money for maybe 20hp that you will likely never notice because it's at 8500rpm. (with arguably less mid range usability) The precat and/or the main cat delete is the performance increase. Ferrari did not leave horsepower lying on the factory floor. More real power from naturally aspirated engines comes from more compression, better flowing heads, more agressive cams, more fuel and then to complement all that....wait for it....a better exhaust and tune. I'm calling my 430 with de-cat headers at 500hp and that's plenty on the street. For me.

Ordinarily I would agree with you but it has been proven that Ferrari does leave quite a bit of power on the the table and has also used some crappy components. If you are going to make these changes you may as well ensure you have optimized the car. For the record my car is making another 40HP to the wheels and more torque. Yes, 500hp is plenty for the street but mine now has closer to 540HP. :)
