I clicked on several of the DIY threads in the 308 forum, and none worked....
content is still there, but since those are hard links, that content is now at a different url and would need users with edit ability to update. for popular hard links still being used, we will eventually get those cleaned up. in meantime what will help is for users to figure out new link and then post them to the thread. we are going to run some scripts to fix YouTube links, we'll see about fixing old forum links too. In theory it is simple search and replace.
"Software support" is a big deal in the corporate world. (That's why there's separate "RedHat" and "Fedora" distros. One you pay for.) The old forum software no longer had support. But then, I'm still using a (linux) window manager that hasn't been updated since 1994. Nobody is adding new bugs to it. (And, since it was written in the 486 days, it uses trivial resources.) (Not flashy, just efficient.) Once things stabilize, we may need a new tutorial on how to add image attachments.
If you use the blue classic style at least you can look at it more than 2 minutes without getting a headache. I wish the thread titles were longer so you could read them easier before deciding to open I wish the thumbnail option was an option and full screen was default. The rude word filter sucks. Way overly aggressive. I know it's silly but I liked the logo at the right upper corner. It was easier to reach with the touchpad as most of the time you just went straight up to click. Now its up and to the far left. Some of the buttons are really small. I'm always hitting like instead of reply. Stuff like that.
Is there a dedicated thread on features/FAQ of the new format? It's annoying that there's no "multi-quote" button, only "reply" that takes you to the bottom of the page so you have to scroll up to find other posts you want to quote in the same reply.
The same list as before now. For awhile we had put two different lists together and that was causing problems because users use to old list and it worked fine.
Can I offer a title? "How to navigate the KlugeOsphere". I'm able to work it but it's kinda hinky ...
Viewing on the Classic version. No problems especially as bugs are fixed. I like the many new features but have some comments about other missed ones which can wait till Rob has sorted the important ones. Mine are minor, Some have asked for more posts per page. Conversely I would like the previous option of fewer posts per page.I would also like to be able to change the classic view to red rather than blue, as I had it before. But these are minor points and I can live with it how it is. I haven't tried not yet on anything other than a desktop
I wanted to say that I think the classic version is working great now! Good job guys I'd change my vote now for this poll if I could
There should be a "Change Your Vote" button at the bottom right of the poll. One of the upgraded features.
I use this on a Mercedes Benz forum. My biggest gripes are multi quote is a bit messy and marking individual forums read you have to select it then mark it read. I am using the old skin currently but intend to eventually move to the new. I think now (though not confirmed it) I can logout and sections/posts I have not read come back to later Change is always a pain even though us folks in IT have to do it for various reasons, we too don't always like the outcome. However as a user 'support' for an out of date application is not something we care about
I like the upgrade. Congratulations to Rob and F-Chat staff for making it happen, long overdue. If only more forum type sites did this, they would garner more interest. Instead, most seem content with being mired looking the same way they did in the 90s. Progress! BHW
Works with Tapatalk once again. All is right with the world. Well almost, the new emojis on the web version are still creeping me out. [emoji3] T
The new look is certainly stylish and fresh, but did your web designer decide to use GRAY type for the body copy? I have a modest 24" monitor and I still have to magnify the page in order to read anything. I can only imagine what that looks like on a cell phone screen. All this white space is nice in theory, but in my opinion the new site looks more like print design than web design.
I love it, sorry I missed the chance to vote. I realize that I'm not a member of the core target audience - I don't own a Ferrari, never will own a Ferrari, seldom post - but I am a heavy internet and forum user and have been since the internet was born, and I love cars. FChat is hands down the best forum site on any topic I have ever used. It is informative, entertaining, and easy to be a part of. I like the redesign a lot.
Despise it. Normally a frequent contributor but it just sucks. I know the thought is there to improve - honestly. But, there's very little to nothing I can say that is positive about it. I wish it had not been done.
I like the old version as it was before any changes were made. I don't use it as much anymore as I don't like the way it is now. I won't subscribed to it anymore for sure if it stays like it is now. My vote old version the way it was before the changes
