    Hey guys, I seem to be having an issue with the passenger seat. When I try the seat back release to put something or someone in the back seat, I have to use an insane amount of force to get it to release. Is there an adjustment to the cable? What gives? I would prefer to try and adjust it if it can be before I go ahead and bring it to the dealer. Thanks!

    I don't know if it's an "insane" amount of force but it does take quite a bit. I'm guessing that (like some other features one doesn't usually associate with a $200+K automobile) it is "normal" for the 456.

    I have just the opposite problem with my 2001 456M; it is the driver's seat that takes an "insane" amount of force. Wanna trade?

    Not normal- mine works with a single finger to the lever... Of course they didn't work at all for a while but it is a fairly simple procedures to adjust the cables and micro-switches.

    It is a 2 steps operation: one hand to hold the seatback firmly in its place, the other to flip the lever.
    If you do it properly it should be real easy.
    If you just pull on the lever you will eventually end up breaking something.

    Cable adjustment is a real problem. Many came from the factory that way. It should be rather easy to actuate.

    mine only takes a moderate amount of force, BUT you have to do it just right, or it wont work at all.

    anybody has problem with the driver seat back lean cuz my doesn't go back anymore HELP!!!

    When you say back do you mean after the seat backis in the normal locked back and doest travel back?

    nope the back of the seat only doesn't move anymore changed the seat control from passenger to driver and still nothing changed the switch for test passenger to driver nothing does only little noise and nothing else
    the seat moves back and forward up and down that's it

    There's GOT TO BE a way to repair/rebuild a failed potentiometer. These items are fixed all the time in the musical instrument repair cottage industry - doing a search for "repair rebuild potentiometer" will bring up a long list of results.

    you can rebuild them. but if you cannot manage to do that for whatever reason, then an operational one is difficult to source.

    btw, the most expensive thing about repairing that seat potentiometer is getting at it - the labor to remove the seat and reinstall it is high.
