I agree totally. I tried to find and buy my 2001 Diablo. Sadley it was exported to Denmark.

I think a lot of us would find driving an Alfa 4C a lot of fun. Or even a Fiat 124 or for something really different, a Focus RS. But I don’t have enough room in the garage and not ready to give up the higher HP cars. So tempting, though.

OT: Not until I saw a coupla heavysetters in a 4C recently did I realize how small that car is. It looked like they had been poured into it. Their miserable faces were practically touching the windscreen.

I’m only 5’9” and 168 lbs and I found getting in and out of a 4C very difficult. It was a blast to drive though. It needs to be 10% larger in all proportions.

If the 488 is too much, like others have mentioned above, the 458 may be a great alternative for you if you still are very much enjoying the chassis itself. While still offering a very raw driving experience, the 458 doesn't have the sheering torque like the way the 488 comes on.

I've been driving my BBi for the last 4 years and have no need for more power in a street car. Decent torque and by todays standard modest HP, but in the right gear it's plenty. I really enjoy it's power vs it's handling as it makes for a enjoyable drive on a longer trip 300+ miles or a good blast in the back roads. Not many places I thought I need more speed or power, but I'm not trying to set records.

I don't know- I am trading in my 17 Z06 for a 458- I find myself in the Z (bone stock) that on the street it screetches the tires at 100mph going into 3rd- it's sooo fast/powerful that I just can't use it all but it looks amazing and for the money the best bang by far- the 458 should be a little more useable but we all know after around 400hp it's hard to get a lot of use on the street and not risk ticket/jail/death

I loved my brief test drive of the Alfa 4C several years ago. It struck me as a kind of jr. 430 Scuderia. But Im not that tall and my test drive was only for about 90 minutes. And yes, garage space and budget = can't get everything all the time. But if you are looking for a fun smaller car, that is pure in its driving responses, the 4C should be on your list.

I can hear Darren McGavin in "A Christmas Story" reading the word "FRAGILE" incorrectly, with a slight Italian accent, on the crate with the leg-lamp in it. :)

I have been telling my wife that my Evora 400 is perfect for the road usage. 400hp with 3100 lbs is very enjoyable without worrying too much for breaking laws. I cannot fully enjoy the 458's 570 hp or Cali T without worry. My 991.1 (PDK) and .2 GT3 (Manual) also have too much horses, and the GT4 is a lackluster in performance unless I stay in 6k RPM the whole time... In general, I think turbo and supercharger about 400 horses and light weight are very fun overall and enjoyable, albeit the sound department is a completely different story. Sweet spot = 400 hp and 3000 lbs.

Yes Mel, that is the Newman piece. Put in, as a preventative measure, and did a whole bunch of service in 2016. Year before I did the suspension. Runs like a champ. Dave.

My 355 is the slowest car I own (even our family SUV is faster) but it's the most enjoyable car to drive by a large margin.

Heyyyy I'm a newbie to the brand. Go easy! At least I appreciate the machinery and use it properly wherever I can. Well that's my story anyway :p

Out of curiosity, do you still have the car? If you decide that a 458 is right for you and trading is s consideration, let me know. I'm entertaining moving up to the 488.
