And, party it is! Most F-chatters seem to love the styling and performance of the Porto in relation to its predecessor, the Cali. Having test driven one, I thought it had great handling and steering. I still think the NA Cali looks better, but I concede that I appear to be in the minority. All that being said, I think they are going to sell like hot cakes...T

I’m with you tomc. I think the old Cali NA is a looker. A friend of mine, artist/architect saw them side by side a deemed the Cali the better. Drove and loved the Porto and asked Tampa Bay to notify me the first time the6 get one back in trade. 590 hp hard to resist. New electronics make a big diff.

The design is beautiful and the driving is impressive. Although, I feel the price points of options are incomprehensible, e.g.
front cameras, carbon fiber, Apple car play, special paint colors, etc.

Additionally, Ferrari does not offer state of the art features, that are standard in other cars, such as blind spot monitoring,
rear cross path detection, cruise control radar and lane assist. Furthermore, many of these are standard in Ferrari's
FCA cousins Jeep, Fiat and Ram.

One must wonder why Ferrari buyers pay a King's ransom when Jeep owners have it included in purchase prices of 30K
    and upwards.

I must opine, that a wise buyer would wait to purchase a Portofino on the secondary market and even then, it is a irrational
    purchase.

    Whut?

This is why GM is shuttering it's sedan plants. Everyone wants an SUV/Crossover (read that, "station wagon") that is Nerf gun safe and drives itself. I'm sorry, but a Ferrari is an enthusiasts car. If you're looking for an affordable luxury robot with training wheels I'd suggest moving down market to Lexus.

Your missing the point. Most people that buy these types of cars, ie Porsche,
Ferrari, McLaren, Lambo, buy these without looking at a monthly payment or lease payment. They buy these for the beauty and performance of the automobile.
Sure the cost is high but most of us don't care. I can't remember the last time I turned my radio on in my Ferrari or Porsche
Who cars. My favorite all time car is a simple 2016 VW GTI with a Chip. Base car and would have paid much more.
Most drive there Ferrari a few thousand miles a year. We like to wax them and just look. After all we all had posters of these when we were kids.

I have just got my PF and to compare to the Cali, you have to take the final version with the Handling S pack . It is a notable step up in terms of overall performance and obviously in car entertainment. Styling is great, and I also liked the Cali T, but it probably carries too much of a family resemblance for some, and I expect many will ask if it is the latest California. Dynamically it is far better , and is closer to what many will feel is a Ferrari experience, it sounds more like a 488 too. It is an easy car to live with, you sit on rather than in it, if that makes sense. The rear seats might just fit a baby or small child, but even them only if the passenger will sit far forward, so to be really useful it needs another 25cm behind the front seats . They are almost useless, even with a child seat and small person, which is a shame as it reduces the advantages over a 488. If you do not need that little bit of "practicality," I would go with a 488 Spider, which is very easy to live with day to day. It is a great car though, and a worthwhile step up from the final Cali T HS.

I ordered a Portofino. I’ve owned two Cali’s, a 2010 and a 2012. The Cali is an amazing car, and test driving the Portofino, I’m gonna enjoy this one just as much. I daily drive whatever exotic I own. Currently, it is a Lamborghini Huracan. The Lambo is fun, but I definitely like the Ferrari cars better. The Lambo is very much an Audi. It is very raw and fast, but I miss the Cali, which I traded on the Lambo.

The rear seat will serve a critical purpose for me, namely, a place for the wife to put her purse. :)
