Any evidence to confirm an 11th body was actually produced by Scaglietti? This collector seems to be a delightful gentleman so I don't wish to be rude but it is a fair question, he has has two replicas parked left and right of it after all.

Re the F1 I enjoyed interviewing Amon and Bell about that season for a Cavallino article, shot one of them at Symbolic but was vexed that my bum would not fit in it:eek:

    I bet that was disappointing.

He got the right litreage for the engine but the the wrong number of cylinders.

Well there was no question of me test driving that one so not really but Bell told me he barely could fit in it in recent years because human bodies get wider with age so that made me feel better:)

    From the engine looks like it's based on a 330GT 2+2 S1.

So this is where one of the spare Piper P4 continuation chassis ended up then, although the owner did claim it was the car raced in South Africa?

No. Actually this has nothing at all to do with any of the replica chassis that Piper had made. The only connection is the colour/livery of the car which copies that of 0854, which it once once had when Piper raced it, and the owner bought GRP front and rear clams which Piper used on 0854, which you can see on the wall. The body of this car has mostly P4 details, not 412P details, as it should have, if it was to be a correct replica of 0854. Piper only wrote his signature on the car, but there is no other connection.

None of the Piper chassis are official continuation chassis, including the one that Piper has had 0900 stamped on it. Neither Piper or Attwood have raced this replica.

Chassis #0900 belongs to a 312P(B) and not the Piper P4. None of the other Piper chassis actually have a chassis number 0900a, 0900b etc. These numbers were only made up by Max Wakefield to differentiate the Piper P4 style replica chassis Piper had made after Piper himself wrongly called and stamped his first P4 replica chassis #0900, which is actually DP002. Wakefield did once own one of the Piper P4 style replica chassis, but he never had the car completed, and was not built up in his ownership. Wakefield also had another P4 replica, which was built up and used with a Lamborghini engine, but it had nothing to do with the Piper P4 style replica chassis.

The Piper P4 with Piper P4 style DP002 chassis has nothing to do with Ferrari and is not a continuation but the car does have many genuine Ferrari parts, including 0858's spare 4.2 litre 350 Can Am spec engine, which was a 4.0 litre P4 engine before it was bored out when 330 P4 0858 was converted to a 350 Can Am car. It also has the spare 0858 P4 tipo 603R transaxle and is also said to have the 4 spare suspension corners from Can Am 0858.

Hmmmmm so none of this guys examples are faithful recreations, just sort of lookalikes parading as the real deal. It seems the you tuber was gushing way too much then. Funny how his Piper is a replica of a replica!

As I have stated before, the owners of such cars should be loud and proud of how their cars came to be, rather than give politicians responses.
