Seller claims tires are recent, but the date codes show otherwise (7 year old tires).

This causes a bit of doubt on the rest of the ad, although I believe it to be an original 6-speed car.

Haven’t heard of many converted 355’s. I’m sure there are plenty. How could one verify?

I think it is in the VIN or maybe that is just spider designation not GB type?

I think all Spiders (regardless of transmission type) carry a ‘48’ VIN code on the tag. It’s the same with our ‘97.

technically, there is no difference in the equipped transmission (i.e. manual vs. automatic) - only the way it functions. So I don’t think that the VIN can tell this.

If the car goes for 55k I think it’s a good deal!

Easy fix with some TLC. Can rejuvenate the plastic.

Yes There's nothing in the vin stating the transmission type.

It would be a lot of work to totally change a F1 to appear as a stick car. Nothing to do with the shifting stuff that's not a big deal but there's plenty of other items that some would over look.

I mean the dash badge is nothing but my car says 355F1 it's not a simple swap that would take effort.

plus the electrics for the F1 I'm not sure if it's a stand alone harness or if it's integrated into the dash and body harnesses, but there's certain things swaped for the gear indicator not sure if the harness has the plug for the other gauge oil pressure or temp?? I can't recall stuff like that would take effort to change.

did you take it all apart? and I'm thinking interior spray dye?

You should be able to run the VIN at a dealer and have them check the build.
