Agreed. But improved from SV to SVJ considerably. Part of the “charm”. But when I drive them, meh. Price to pay.
Will you be taking that fantastic Countach on JT's Rally (Curated)? this may be of interest: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/monterey-car-week-three-cancelled-events-so-far.644681/ https://whatsupmonterey.com/article/activities/monterey-car-week-overview
Would love to but I’d be cutting it awfully close timing-wise. I’ll be at the Quail on Friday as well as attending some private parties during the week (McLaren, Pagani, Singer). Do you have plans to attend?
Ok I see you can't answer for yourself now, but it's so obvious you haven't driven any of these cars because if you had you would never have posted what you just did. Btw making reference to earlier reviews is also not a very reliable way to gain traction against those who have actually owned and/or driven these cars. And this my "friend says" crap is pathetic! Having so little actual experience in anything doesn't mean you can make things up and blame your friends who aren't here to answer for themselves. That's just further bad form. And, posting thinly veiled threats to shoot members you don't agree with? Get yourself help dude before you wind up behind bars. Instead of spouting off unqualified hate driven rubbish all the time perhaps try and open your mind and at least drive the cars you intend throwing off at first. And quoting 5'11" is "a benchmark for driver dimension in a 911"? Where on earth did you come up with that load of crap? When you get back you will have to explain yourself there because I will be asking you make no question about that. A true car enthusiast would not say the things you've just posted here and pretty well everywhere else for that matter, that's 100% for sure! It would also appear - going by your own words - that your whole world is hinging upon whether STO gets a better review and posts better times than 765? Like seriously dude get a grip. These are both great cars from great manufacturers so the times should not be the be all end all. And making a comparison/choice comes down to how well each car serves you in ALL areas. Little sense owning a car if you don't track it enough let alone fit into it least of all see out of it properly. In that sense you may be better off in a Perf or Evo. Anyway enjoy your time out, try and calm down, and have a good think about the nonsense you've been posting.
I have tix for Quail but still waiting to see if Lamborghini is hosting a house this year. They will be unveiling the Countach commemorative hypercar so to see this car alone is worth a 2 hour flight over.
well for me the gear box and the sound is what I would pay for, compared to the others you've listed, it's a part of the Lambo experience which got lost in their boring double clutch - even when are trying to artificially generate the bang in the seat when you shift it al feels so fake (in Huracan and all Ferraris with DCTs)
How tall are you please, and how are you proportioned? Asking because I'm 6'5" and had to cancel my GTS because I didn't fit, and have lusted after an AV for a long time now. Mike
I’m 64 and while I could squeeze myself into a per for Montei not comfortably but I could do it if I wanted to, zero chance I would ever buy in Aventador. I just did not like the headroom I did not like the There’s a building. I would love to own a Lambo and maybe I will someday but not in Aventador in its current form.
You’ll have absolutely no shot of fitting into an Aventador. I wanted an SVJ in the worst way. I spent a couple hours on several different occasions sitting in a comfort seat equipped SVJ trying to talk myself into it. At 6’6” 265lbs, I struggle to fit in most cars, but the SVJ is the first, and only, car that I wanted to buy, but didn’t because of the cramped quarters.
This thread has killed more people than Pol Pot. Why not just move it to the P&R section? Never thought there’d be so much controversy over something as silly as F8 or STO. If it’s not locked by the time I receive them, I’ll be happy to provide an opinion of each.
Love the videos, the first one: people like what is this thing doing on the road and the second one: when he says savage, exactly what I want to hear
Gee funny how you call out other members out as being on your lawn, baying for their banning for speaking about cars other than F8 and STO, then you go post this up? So much consistency here! As there is so much false information in your above post, indicating you couldn't possibly have driven 765 and, Pista, which btw you claim to have owned for only a few days or so... You also quote F8 as if its unworthy as a car other than its look. Then the TDF - which you've spent your whole life trying to obtain - also gets dispatched in next to no time at all . Now, the look of STO is "too tired" but you "loved it" when it was revealed? Dusty, none of this makes any sense at all and only indicts the fact that the cars which you claim to have owned were never driven least of all owned for long enough to form any real credible conclusion worthy of spruiking. Let's just go through your list starting off with the Pista. I will work my way down from there if you will. OK, your Pista story:- Your story here was you sold it shortly after buying it - and of course had to tell every Pista owner on Fchat just how disappointing it was - because it sounded bad. You gave this car not even the chance to even break in to where you could even exploit the performance envelope of the car least of all allow the exhaust to break in so it sounded proper (as 99% of the other Pista owners are now reporting!! We already know Pista is a beautiful looking car, so what is the point your are trying to covey here again? That you owned it and it was no good. Hmm Ok that sounds credible yet you barely even drove it off the showroom floor before returning it! Your 765LT Story:- Ok now this particular one is a real doozy for a number of reasons which I will point out. Beside the fact you couldn't even come up with even one solitary Pic when requested - as proof you had even bought the car - you oddly still managed to come out with a story on the car - to all the members on fchat inc owners of the car - which was full of holes. Again this car was (supposedly) in your garage only for a matter of days before it was dispatched. So, OK, you report the 765 as being fast - which btw every man and his dog knows - and now claim it as the roughest riding and least familiar car out of the bunch?? I'm sorry, but I just don't buy that you have ever driven this car as your account is so conflicting with the actual experience being reported by s0 many others its not funny. A key point noting here:- Il Co Pilota is a guy who actually drives his cars and knows how to drive them. When @Il Co-Pilota was questioned by certain members here over whether he really drove the 765 he was (at least) able to give an account that he personally found the 765 no firmer riding than the Pista and, if anything said 765 was softer!! Btw I concur with Il Co's findings, so his story is believable to (me as being an actual owner). I suspect 765 must have been unfamiliar to you because a) you either never really owned it, or, b) simply had no idea on how to operate the very basic suspension settings and, left it set in the track setting which is indeed very very firm - suitable for track only. But bottom line either way, whether you did or didn't own this car, the car was again barely driven off the showroom floor before being returned, so again I'm not sure how any conclusion worthy of mention could have been formed? Now let's look at your F8 story: Again F8 didn't cut muster because of the sound issue, which granted F8 car is very muted and subdued - so fair enough there. But that's no real news either btw. However, on the flip side, the fact so many others have bought F8 and love it is suffice to say (that once again) the very short stint you claim to have done in the F8 couldn't possibly have been long enough least of all far enough to have formed any conclusion worth mentioning. Moving on the the STO story. Now this one is a real head shaker given you make so much fuss over sound and rawness being what you look for from a car :- So OK, you loved the look of STO at launch and now it's all of a sudden old hat? Again this poor car has never even been given the opportunity to be driven before it gets scratched off the the list! Ridiculous! The STO is clearly going to be the real drivers car it's claimed to be by Lambo and that's becoming increasingly obvious by the review. There can be no question about that fact, yet STO oddly no longer cuts muster, yet somehow an old 458 spider of far less value does? Hmm. Okay.. I think i'm beginning to get the picture. Finally we have the Lambo Aventador tales with the SVJ getting the big tick at the moment. Where does it end? Let me guess. It's no good either but an old Ferrari CS or 458 spider seems to hit the right spot? Sigh....I can barely wait to hear about it.
Ill be honest- some of the stuff Dusty posts doesnt make sense to me. I get it he didnt like the Pista sound so he sold it, even though it was one of the most beautiful specs Ive ever seen- but what had me scratching my head was the TDF that came and went so quickly. I get people go in and out of these cars but his ins and outs are on a different level. You may get back what you paid for the car but in LA- you dont get back the tax, the registration fees etc. So on a 750k TDF- you pay 70k in tax another 10k in registration and fees only to keep the car for a week and sell it cause you didnt like the sound? But you drive a Tesla? Maybe Dusty has a dealers license to avoid all the fees? Anyways- a bit confusing for sure. p.s. is it cut the muster or cut the mustard??? Ive always been confused on that one.
