I recently opened up mine and rebuilt it. I polished the whole front screen, so no scratches there anymore. The traffic light foil was still in good shape on mine. I just had to put some clear matte spray paint on it to remove some imperfections. On yours it looks attached/married to the front panel. As if some liquid got into it. On mine it was a separate foil with the three colors on it.
On yours it also appears that the printed black frame around the traffic lights on the front screen has faded.
Difficult one... I would try to polish the back of the front screen and then reproduce the black printed frame with fine masking tape. Concerning the foil I would use a color printer with some printable foil.

Or maybe mask the black frame on the back and use black spray paint?

So, I removed the color film from the bottom and I am scraping the old off of the plastic. It seems that the box got hot and overheated because so much gunk had attached to the plastic frame. I have to rebuild the colors because they did not peel off properly. This picture was taken looking from the backside.

Tomorrow I will send you some more pictures and dimensions of the screen and the color film.
I want to spray the frame and the screen, so a dismantle is needed anyways...

You being located in Germany, that makes sense:

I wonder if cars delivered to the States had Amercian flags behind the screen?

So true! And if everything is fine the whole flag lights up...

How does the screen look like in Hongkong?

Where did you get the color film? Is that the original color film? Mine broke up when I took it off.

No, it's the original color film. Mine just had a water mark spot on it. That's why I painted it with the matte clear. The film should be easy to reproduce. I guess a clear film and then printing the color scheme on it should do it.

So, I cleaned everything up- for sure the box got hot and the RGY film got brittle and some melted onto the plastic. What is th best procedure to reproduce the RGY film? Thank you. I have no idea how the box got so hot. That is from the previous owners' neglect!
