That makes sense to me. I own a gated spider and living in FL, I'd take it over a Modena any day of the week.

So CF bits negatively affect the value of the car?

not necessarily, but some buyers want their car to be all original. this auction even included the original items, but like i said, some guys are funny about non original items on their cars no matter how small the item is.

this is one reason I’m keeping the silver bits. That and they don’t look bad in the Nero interior.

I was tempted by another Fchatter’s 360 but I’ll leave the silver.

You’re going to need new air boxes and F430 MAF sensors.

I want carbon air boxes anyway. So that’s fine.

I just got a notice from Hagerty stating the value of my gated 360 Modena has increased!

    Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's currently insured for the purchase price in 2016. I called Hagerty earlier this year about increasing the agreed value and they did not think it was necessary! I guess they are changing their tune...

With the new clutch, throwout bearing, re-build LSD, belts and complete service, I now have a LOT more in it than $1,000!!

Just FYI, you can pay Ferrari $350 per MAF, or buy them from Summit Racing for $150 each. Just know you may be waiting a few months on Summit.

The stock 360 MAF are available on Rock Auto. He is upgrading to 360 CS specs on his ECU so he needs to upgrade the air intake as well.

The 360 CS (Same as 599 and F430) MAF are not available at RockAuto. Only sources I found were Ferrari Dealer, usual online (Ricambi, Ferrparts, etc.) and Eurospares. All of them are ridiculously priced ($350 each).

Summit Racing can get them (Bosch PN 0280218085) for $150 each. It's the exact same part.

So fellas— do you think the near term gated modena market has peaked? Are we due for a correction?

I would guess prices have peaked for now. No manual Ferraris will ever be made again (jmo) so if rowing your own gears in an Fcar is your thing, buy in. With the high cost of new cars and the probability that they will only continue to get higher, people will look to the “older” model for entry into the club. This should help keeps values up. jmo as I know, literally, nothing.

A Tour De France blue 360 Modena will be at Mecum's Monterey auction.
Apparently I am not the only one that sees the LM heritage in the design! However, I was not aware that Ferrari acquired Scaglietti and that they produced the 360 bodies! Makes me wonder why the newer styles don't look a little better than they do.

    https://www.mecum.com/lots/CA0822-520725/2000-ferrari-360-modena/
"Naturally, the gorgeous, all-aluminum, Pininfarina-designed body, which was recognizable as a descendent of the 250LM, was manufactured by Scaglietti, now a wholly owned Ferrari subsidiary. Aerodynamics were brilliantly executed in service to high downforce without disrupting the overall form, which was devoid of any visually disruptive add-ons thanks to an elegant flat undertray design drawn from Ferrari’s Formula 1 experience."

Beautiful color combination, but a lightly optioned car. All I noticed were colored calipers and piping.
