I agree. I think the 365 offer a nice balance between modern and vintage driving experience. And the looks, IMO, are perfect.
I done some driving with 512BB and definitely main aspect for these cars are driving experience, personally exterior don't count anymore.
here 1 car offered at BAT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1975-ferrari-365-gt4-bb-3/ still 10 more hours and just now the highest bid is only at 155k ? unfortunately nothing is said about last major service
Good day Romano, I updated one of the original threads on this car (chassis 17257) with the Bat auction info, pics, etc in an attempt to keep all the relevant info on the car in one spot or so. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/1974-365-gt4-boxer-for-sale.89825/page-3#post-149477562 Cheers, Sam
the Boxer market is hard to understand…..low production, decent looking as an outsider looks at it, should have cachet as the first mid engine road car, tops out at $350k…..and that is over the seller reserve.
Good day, Maybe, but the shrinking "pool" seems OK with the Dino 246, Daytona, etc. Markets tend to be fickle... what more can one say? Cheers, Sam
Good day, Chassis 17257's sale price seems to be reflective of its current condition. I think it is solid price all things considered, especially these days where originality tends to be quite important/more valued and 17257 has had a number of modifications along with a few needs. Cheers, Sam
Inspite of all the hype about it being the 3rd car, with 365 Boxers, that is a negative. The factory had all sorts of problems with the 365 and lots of parts were revised as it went through its production life. The 365 Boxer is a car in which the later the production, the better the car, and the higher the value.
Daytona and 246 are down also. Although these are more universally sought after, particularly the 246. The 512M is on par or surpassed them. A generational shift that's not being reverted. What's etc?
Good day, I can certainly understand your logic and agree that later cars are better, but in general the first of something is usually more sought after. That said, the 512BB was the next step/evolution to the 365 and yet between the two, 365's tend to command a premium even with its various quirks. However, not too many 365s were produced, or actively change hands, or are in similar/same condition and so it is tough to draw comparisons or conclusions. Cheers, Sam
https://www.tomhartley.com/used-car-details/used-ferrari-365-berlinetta-boxer-coupe-rosso-chiaro-manual-petrol/id-6617/ this is my old car for sale-looked very different when i owned her 2008-13.
Good day, My point was that the 246/Daytona are even older than the Boxers and yet they do command a higher price and so it is not solely a generational thing. Your comparison to the 512M is certainly valid. That said, the 512M's aesthethics are in the eye of the beholder, as I am not a fan on the outside, but the underneathy bits are impressive. I still contend that a good portion of the market is fickle and tends to driven by things that are hard to qualify. Simply short hand for Et Cetera, meaning "and so on" or additional or similar things that preceded the "etc". Cheers, Sam

yes typical progression - they attempted to solve the problems with the 512bb, and the bbi was just a switch to injection. mind you, i consciously chose the bbi over a bb since i did not want to deal with the carbs in variable climates. it was my preference.

Barn find, the new buzz word but this is not really a barn find when the cars are in a new structure all covered in fitted Ferrari red car covers.
