Certainly worth a call and if you are serious a PPI is a MUST!!!
Make sure you report back, and if you get the VIN please let us know. Some of us keep dibs on these cars. ;) We might even be able to add to the history.

With the area code of the phone number anyone interested in having me look at the car let me know. I live in the same area code so I would be able to check it out for a fellow chatter. Always interested in helping out.

No stories to tell- genuine Ferrari never wrecked with clear title- I am just desperate for money to pay expenses. Totally presentable and drivable. In the past year I have had the seats re-upholstered in original color, genuine factory leather. I also just had the engine completely rebuilt which includes every gasket (including head gaskets), water pump, seals, rings, and bearings.

The car is complete. Overall, mechanically sound, all the glass is in great shape, no rust (except one tiny small spot out of sight where a rear valance is held on), and all the interior switches, knobs, and dials work.

The car has the original paint and its tired- it needs a paint job. The car also needs some carb or tuning work done- it runs well enough but it runs terribly rich. Lastly, there is a leak on the oil pan gasket- get under the car, take off the pan, repair/replace gasket, problem solved.

Please don't come and look at the car and tell me how much it needs paint or a little work. It's a Ferrari for the price of a Hyundai people! Just show up, take advantage of me, and drive away with a big smile as you enjoy your new Ferrari.

Oh, and if you can't muster up even my paltry asking price- I think I can even take a credit card payment!

That first one disappeared last night.

Also -- that isn't Azzurro! Looks more like Sera-ish?

It doesn't sound like anyone has really set eyes on the white one? Someone said "think rusted quarters, doors" but never said that he actually went out and looked at it. Spasso has a point about the pan gasket and the carbs running rich, but it could be that the gasket was faulty and the chap who did the work doesn't know how to tune multi-Weber setups.

I'm at the point that as long as it isn't Bondoed to the hilt or rusted in the quarters, doors and all the usual nasty places, I'd be inclined to throw $9500 at it and enjoy it/ sit on it for a few years. (My wife doesn't know this yet!) Personally, I just don't think there's much market for the GT4 right now, especially a ratty one. It doesn't mean it isn't going to appreciate when the overall car market comes back.

I sent the guy an email and maybe I'll just call him. Did some quick research and he's a mortgage lender. I'm sure business stinks and he needs money. (He also runs a Honda "race team".)

Sam PM me with your number and I'll tell you about the white one. I did go look at it and even took a bunch of pics. After I posted them in this thread http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=226590 though the seller contacted me and gave me a hard time about "publishing" pictures of his car. I took them down even though I was just trying to help folks here decide if they wanted to purchase the car. What's that they say about no good deed going unpunished??

Bottom line is I think if you can get him to show you receipts for the engine work, or maybe get it checked to see if compression and leakdown are good, it wouldn't be a bad buy at $10K or less.

One thing I think I did forget to post was that the headlight stalk is broken but Verell should be able to fix that.
