    I have a 1987 speedo which occassionally has the needle go to zero while driving. Is this likely a problem with the speedo or a sending unit.

    I would try the sender first. They usually go bad.

    Sender, common problem. Get a new one from one of our sponsors. Should be under $150. 1987? You should be on at least your second or third one by now! :)

    Just swapped mine out and it solved the zero at 80 problem, it was intermittent. Make sure and do it now as I have heard that it can fry your speedo if you dont. Sodacoms or Dennis Mcann has em!
