Hi! I am looking articles of magazines and pictures about the ferrari 308 gr. b of rallies of 80 years. Andruet, Zanini and Toivonen driven this car. Can you post pictures and information of this car ? Thanks........
not easy to find something, but here are some. If you get something else, share it with us, thanks, vincent 1977 Vallenlunga driver : Besenzoni
so, this is what i found for the moment. Don't forget Waldegaard also drove a rally with a 308 GR4. greetings, vince
Antonio Zanini drove this car in 1985 in the championship of Spain. In 1984 was champion of rallies of Spain with a 308 2V.
What are the mods on these cars? From the pictures I can see racing seats, cage and wider front and rear fenders. So probably bigger tires. What else? I also noticed in the latest Cavallino market review, that the Michelotto 308 are the only ones going up in value. Interesting.
Michelotto did something to the compression ratio/camshaft to make these cars put out insane HP - the French Pioneer Ferrari Rally car was discussed by Wallace Wyss in the Ultimate Guide to the Ferrari 308 Series book (long out of print, but worth the hunt). The car was original fiberglass and had 310 HP, but redlined over 9,500 (a 10,000 RPM Tach was installed for Groupe 4 Rally racing). Michelotto helped Risi Competitzione prepare their 360 Race car to win in ALMS....anything those folks touch turns to gold!
The conrods were also special. Probably titanium or so. There probably is LOT more done in the engine department than meets the eye. Jack
Had a good drive of one about 10 years ago across some english back roads on a sunday morning. Was apparently a Mich. car and ran a 328 derived motor north-south, crash box etc and about 380 hp.
