I just ordered test pipes from Heiko (HG Parts) for my 355. I can't imagine that it would be too difficult to install, however, I would like some feedback before I start removing panels, parts, wheels, etc. to reach the cats. I usually leave this stuff to my mechanic but I also enjoy tinkering on my own. I would like to give it a try myself unless someone informs me otherwise. Any potential hurdles?

I can't imagine it being any different than on the 348.
    (4) spring loaded bolts per CAT (and some elbow grease)

You may need to clean or replace your bolts if they are rusty.

FWIW - I applied some "anti-sieze" (bought at auto store) to the threads
so I wouldn't have much trouble getting them off next time.

Probably a 1-2 hour job but def worth it!!!

You're probably right. I think I would enjoy giving it a try. Thanks!

Okay, the 355 exhaust is not in anyway as easy as the 348...

The 348 has two pipes to the muffler. The 355 has both cats and the by-pass pipe to it.
I would recommend taking out the airboxes and the black shield above the muffler. This will gain access to the top two bolts.
Then disconnect the bolts to the CAT. Hopefully you have already removed the two lower panel extentions(Black undertray).
You will probably be able to slide out the CAT's by tilting the muffler slightly.

Opon re-installation. Just make sure that the by-pass valve will open up when the bolts are tightened. i have seen some cars that the valve seems seized, but it was just the matter of the valve wasn't properly positioned.

    Good Luck to You
