Been going there for awhile from a friend's rec. Not very fancy on the inside, but has a few articles on how it was voted Best Restaurant etc. Cafe Amore on Coit between Beltline and Arapaho. had their eggplant parmesean last night and it is so good.
Theres another place at Coit and Spring Valley, NW corner. Don't remember the name, but it's BYOB and the food is great.
Cafe Amore is ok Italian. Considering of course it is not owned by Italians. If you want really good Italian there are two places: 1) Paparazzi http://www.guidelive.com/profile/102950/ 2) Covino's http://www.guidelive.com/profile/103854/ Both owned by gosh real live Italians...
so who are the italian looking and I think speaking people behind the counter? I'll try the others you mention as well. Thanks!
It really depends on what kind of Italian. Of the two places I mentioned both being North Paparazzi can match Ferrari's food wise at 60% of the price. For surrondings Mi Piacci or Ferrari's Italian Villa has them beat. For Pizza and Rissoti Taverna Pizzeria and Risottoria wins hands down. http://www.guidelive.com/profile/169632/ being real Italian Pizza. On my last visit about 1/3 the patrons were Italian. The sparkling mineral water with lunch is a dead giveaway. Also of course La Trattoria Lombardi again one of the best.
There is a very good Italian restaurant in Plano. It is called Reno's. It's owned by an Italian and just off the Tollway. Maybe we should do another "meeting" at an Italian restaurant with some wine and greart food. OH JIM E!
I assume your are talking about Rino's http://www.guidelive.com/profile/103607/ Up near Baglesteins. I kept driving by there but have not had a chance to stop in. Sounds like a good place to try.
