Here it is
It's a late production 1992 USA version , original in every way - no aftermarket exhausts, tires, turbos, seatbelts or anything else. 3,500 miles and very clean. Drives beautifully, but the brakes squeal something awful (par for the course given the extremely hard compound). It's perfect and exactly what I was looking for.
Several frustrating years. There are plenty 90's out there and the odd 91 but this is the first 92 I have seen available since I started looking in 1999
Wowzers! Congratulations! Do tell: - How long d'ya look (was it a long and intensive search, or something that was found pretty quickly once you focused on it) - How immaculate is she (she looks terrific) - Where's the car, and when do you get it Do tell, do tell.
Wow, this site really needs an smilie that drools, for pictures like those, awsome car, hope you enjoy it and use it well, on road and track Somethig so awsome about the F40, just cant describe it.
Armen, I see that you own/have owned every super Ferrari except the F50. Does it not live up to the standards of the others? As much as I love the F40, the F50 is tied with the McLaren for my goal of owning a supercar by 30. Your collection makes me get goosebumps every time
Thanks Armen. I appreciate the comment from someone who has the beautiful stable you have. BTW, how is the new dealership coming? I drive by the site a couple of times a week, on my way to Colin's car wash.
I have looked hard for at least 4 years. I gave the word to several brokers, but 92's were virtually unbontainable, especially unmolested examples. Andy Cohen finally unearthed this one and worked very hard to get it for me. He's one of the few good guys out there. This one is in excellent condition. It sat for a while and had some needs which were very well taken care of by the excellent people at LA Auto Gallery (Gary Kawakami and Eric Pierce). There are some small cosmetic issues to deal with yet and I am getting a driving set of wheels and tires as the ones on the car now are original, with date stamped Pirellis. The car is in Los Angeles and I'll be bringing it to the beach next week. Hopefully I'll show it at Crystal Cove in a couple of weekends.
Your patience has clearly paid of Alex. Good look with the "restoration," and look forward to seeing more pics of her in future months.
You have bought yourself one -of not the- of the most desirable cars money can buy. Congratulations are in order, so here: Congratulations! (Would you agree that a F50 is nowhere near as desirable as a F40?)
That car is great! I think it's time for you to take another picture of your entire lineup together. I know I'd love to see them all in a row.
Beautiful F40!! I can't believe that it took 4 years to find a 1992. Post some more pics!! The F40 is my favorite of all the F-Supercars. Enjoy it in great health!! Congrats!!
WOW! Congratulations on getting such a nice F40. Enjoy the car and let us know when you'll bring it to crystal cove!
