Looks GREAT! Glad that it finally came in. BTW, take a look at the green 355 Spider @ Naples Motorsports. I think it's a darker green than yours? Needs a Challenge grill... ;-)

Verde Silverstone, actually looks like a green blueish varyation to me. Very low mileage, wonder what it's going for...

They want just under $90K for it. A little high for a 95, but very low on the mileage and seems to be in nice shape. Closest F-car dealer is 200 miles away for a PPI though. I would bet that this car is due for a Major Service as well...

Did you see that Black Euro 550? That's a beauty as well...

Yes they like to target the front plate, but it's not neccesary.
I got a ticket for speeding and a warning for no front plate!! And yes, it was laser and I did have my V1 on but it was over a hill and, unluckily for me, no traffic in front of me! When he shot it the V1 lit up like a Christmas tree but by then it was all over but the crying.

I can't believe you guys aren't using that rear view mirror with the V1 remote display etched into it. That thing is awesome. All V1/Ferrari owners should look into it, so clean and unobtrusive.

I expect a wave of resistance her but I have to say to check out the Cincinnati Microwave Escort 8500.
I have been using them since their original passports and solos and thier new Escort 8500 really picks up the Ka band far away. Supposedly much farther than the Valentine.
    I would check it out.
I am having mine hard wired into the rear veiw mirror now on my 550.
They have the same kind of setup as the valentine. There is a smarrt cord that has a remote light that you can hard wire in and place on your steering column and then hard wire the unit up by your rear view mirror to either mount on the visor or on the window.
    That's my pitch.

This is for my 1986 328 GTS. I just bought a beastmaster rearview mirror (on e-bay about 3 weeks ago) etched to give me the V-1 signals. I haven't installed it yet and want the setup to be as unintrusive as possible. I hate powercords and boxes all over the interior.

It seems like the sensor for the V-1 is large and must mount in the front windshield, so I don't see how to make it look nice and I think I may have wasted the money on the mirror if I can't hide the sensor.

The units with the hidden sensors don't seem to have the good reputation of the V-1, but maybe it will do if I want something that doesn't make such a visual impact on my car.

Anybody have experience and suggestions with this?

I currently have the Passport Escort S2. Its cordless, runs on two AA batteries and for the most part works great, but in certain circumstances. Placed high, near the windshield of a 575M, it won't go off till you can visually see the police officer. No matter the location on a S class Merc, it barely works, ( same can be said for garage openers and for the local tollway pass. ) In the Durango or H2, no problems at all.

Since Im in industrial food sales and my daily drivers are either an H2 or Durango, I like the extra sense of awareness one would get from a detector when they're cruising to clients in different states. The only time I push the pedal down hard on the Ferrari is on a buddy's ranch, ( as I will leave racing on public roads to import thugs and those with no respect for life. ) I have found that in Wisconsin the police target out of state plates for everything from failing to signal a lane change to looking for out of date stickers on out of state plates. Having the awareness that you know a policeman is looking out for you is great, as I have grown tired from hearing from Smokey, " So you're from Illinois," as he starts writing me up for going 66 in a 65 zone. As my Chicago Fchatters would admit, Im no heavy foot either.

I love Rich's writeups so far. Has anyone else had experiences with jammers, compared the different brands of laser/radar detectors? One recomendation really stick out, such as it sounds is the Valentine One?

    I appriciate the feedback...

PS: I had a BMW 8 series that had a built in radar that worked wonders. Also as a kid, purchased the Phaser II which was simply a piece of garbage. I once saw an online ad that would give you 50 bucks to 100 back on any detector you would buy from them in exchange for the old and useless Phaser system. Anyone know of this site? They had the blinder, Valentine and Escort series for sale.

i can tell you why i don't use it.

    (A) it's quite expensive.

    (B) it's just the remote display embedded in the mirror. you still need to have the detector mounted - in my case - just to the right of the rear view mirror - where's the huge win?

    (C) most importantly, the whole point of the remote display, imo, is that it's not visible to people outside the car. for sure, the rearview mirror is visible (QED it's purpose in life). i have my V1 unit up nearish the top of the windshield and the remote display is mounted on top of my steering column back by the instruments. so i just look a bit further down than i would if i were looking at the speedo or tach (and of course when your radar detector goes off the speedo is the first place your eyes go!).

so that's why i didn't bother. i considered it seriously - especially for my M5. but the extreme visibility of a remote display didnt' make sense to me.

    ymmv,
    doody.

Richard, would you happen to have any pictures of this, especially the interior?
