I think that this model is as nice, if not better than their '62 250 GTO. For what it is I'm very pleased with it. But its still no Kyosho.

Oh, I wouldn't go so far as to say only Lussos - there is some breadth.

Eric, i got mine in on thursday, and I have to admit, Mattel did a pretty good job on this model. They actually got the interior color correct. I love the chrome bumpers and accents, I think the only thing that is lacking is underneath the hood. I find the same problem with my 166 as well. I am patiently awaiting my new 246 GTS in burgundy, made by mattel, found only in the U.K. or ebay. I didn't really like the 246 GTS in Yellow and the red was okay, but the burgundy shines brilliantly.

I was very dissapointed in the colors of the original engine so i took it upon myslef to repint the engine the next day after i bought it. I went online and found what the real engine looks like and repainted the engine from the horn to the shocks and everything inbetween, i would be intrested in what you think.

In order to dark wash something one must take some black paint (acryllic works the best) and thin it down so that it will wipe off, then you mix the thinner and paint and put the object one wishes to "dark wash" in it then remove it and wipe off the excess paint which will leave the black paint on the parts that the rag doesent reach. but you have to try and get in to the corners other wise too much black paint will be left.
