Have you guys seen the new 2005 Porsche 911 (997 model) Carrera. cool video, thanks....but 0-60 in 4.8 puts the 911s 0.5 seconds slower than the vette c6, which is 40% less expensive....
I just watched that and the don't forget video. Pretty cool. ZORRO: I think his point is that the C6 Vette is a better bank for your buck if you look at acceleration times. I've been in a Zo6 (405bhp and 385bhp so both versions) at speed and the driver said his 993 felt safer above 70mph but they were both pretty cool to me.
I don't know of any race just to see who can get to 60 mph the fastest. To me 60 mph don't mean anything my grandma can get to 60 mph, for me its all about top speed and handling. I know this porsche will out handle the z06, and definantly holds its value better then zo6. 2005 911 Carrera base: $69,300 2004 Corvette ZO6 base: $52,245
i wouldn't be so quick to say that... not only does the Z06 pull around 70 in the slalom but it also gets 1g on the skidpad, not to mention 60-0 in around 105 feet. then there is the MASSIVE acceleration advantage the z06 has over the 997. sorry, im a porsche fan but the 911 loses bigtime here.
ones an automotive icon, ones a chevy rip-off of a 360. and if you want a no-comparo, how about interior quality!
although u have 52k listed for a Z06 I can tell you right now you can be in one for 8k off sticker at some places and that is also for the commemorative. Erik
How on earth can you say the Corvette is a 360 rip-off?? For one, the vette has been around for 50 years. Even the C5 vette was out well before the 360.
The 911 just keeps getting better The S with the top speed of 180+? Sounds great and I can't imagine what they have in store for the Turbo. Thanks for the link Coujer.

People buy these cars because they have an inclination toward it already, regardless of stat., price, and performance. People have these car for their own state of mind. My .02c
