Got the Mythos as well. Dunno what manufacturer off hand. I was actually lucky enough to see the car for real when it was presented at the Geneva auto show back in the eighties.
I saw it in 2001 @ Concorso Italiano along with the rosso and others. I wasn't as into ferraris as i am now and didn't really know what it was.
I know the feeling. I didn't take a picture of it back then. Something I regret to this day. However I did get to see the Rosso in the metal last year (Goodwood) and even have it as a model now.
Three known to exist. Pininfarina has the prototype, and two were built for the Sultan of Brunei (red and blue cars)
I thought one of them was in Japanese possesion. Apperantly I was wrong. I never saw the blue Mythos though. Any pics?
I don't think you're wrong (Japanese), but I have yet to ever see any photos to back it up. It's been 'rumored' for years, but again, never heard who owns it or pictures of it. The blue one, do a search in the main forum for Sultan of Brunei, there's a pic right here on this website
here it is... the blue one (by Guiloy) does anyone else have it? collectors of the world let us know what of your models is the rarest
I was watching the "Myth of Ferrari" tape series yesterday and they mentioned, that only one Mythos exists that is fully built up. But then again this tape series is by now several years old.
Sorry for dragging up this thread but how much is the 1:18 Guiloy Mythos in red worth? I might have one in the pipeline. For 'completists' it might be nice. T.
Wow, that sounds awfully low. I wonder whether people realized what was offered? Maybe I'm biased, but I think this is one of the coolest models around and an absolute must in any serious collection. Which is why I was willing to part with some serious bucks for the Rosso. Now if only somebody would make a 1/18 Modulo...
If you wanna be honest about this... Guiloy and Revell made probably tens of thousands of them. It's an 'unknown' model unlike a 308 or 360. Only collectors would really buy it. And thanks to ebay, all those thousands made will surface. T.
