I had a great time yesterday! It was nice meeting David and his dad and Tom and his son. I can't wait to complete my car so I can get out to one of these events!
Very nice pictures Tom!! Did anyone else go to the event yesterday, I think we saw the guy from WV with the red 360, and did anyone go today??
Went up there today myself. Had a great time seeing all the cars and watching them go around the track. and much thanks to KAMcDonald for taking me around the track in his lovely 360. Twas sooo much fun. pics to come soon.
Brian-were mostly the same cars up there today as we saw?? Wish I could have gotten a lap, but it looked like everyone there was pretty busy, and the rain came far sooner than anticipated...Oh well, I had a great time anyways
mainly the same, cept no 456 or silver 355. Though other nice ones I saw that werent in ur pics; Shelby Series 1, black countach, GT350. Was a great turnout.
So thats what it was...I saw it in the paddock, but I wasnt sure what it was, unfortunately didnt see it racing either...

I missed it too. Saturday...all suited up...and go outside and it's raining!!! Sunday I had family stuff to do...and couldn't make it to w.va. back to potomac by noon.
My first Ferrari Club event. I'm used to PCA events, and so was a bit surprised at the laid back approach at first, but it turned out to be a great event. Lots of track time and a nice bunch of folks. Thanks to all of the folks at FCA and FoW who put in a lot of prep time in addition to the time at the event to make it happen. Can't wait for the next one.
Great pics, looks like the Ferrari of Washington guy's F40, and that's Gary's Yellow Ruf RGT (drove in the Targa Newfoundland). Seen both cars up close, both get driven a lot, nice to see!
No I was dissapointed that it wasnt there.... And yes, I agree about the fecking AWESOME thing Were you there on Saturday??? Gary's Ruf was insane!! Very sweet car, only a couple of pcars there because I heard they were testing the new track. Were you there on Saturday?? What car were you in?? -David
I was in a red F355B - car number 101 in Blue group - first time on the track in the Ferrari. Ran a 911 race car in PCA (track and Club Racing) for 5 years. 1972 911 stripped with a 1989 3.2L with full cage, racing suspension, the works. Faster and better handling ultimately than the 355, but the 355 is a good compromise street/tract car in stock form. My only upgrade was to switch to racing pads on Sunday after suffering from brake fade in turn 3 (yeah, that was me in the gravel). Yeah, Gary's RUF is cool....but not as cool as it will eventually be...he's changing out the original motor for a turbo'd 996 engine that will be good for more than 600HP!! I've ridden with Gary on the track MANY times both in my previous P-cars (993 street car and race car) and in his various P-cars, and the RUF is the ultimate E-ticket ride in a street car. Gary's an amazing driver and a great instructor. If you ever get a chance to get him in your right seat, or to be in his right seat, DO IT!! Kevin
Hi Kevin, It was nice to meet you yesterday. I was in the Acura race car. Your 355 looks mint. Brought back memories of mine when it was still a street car. As far as the 355 not handling as well...................................... ......................just turn your 355 into a Challenge and it will handle as well (my fastest lap in Challenge was a 1:18). Here is a pic from one of last years FOW meetings in the 355 C. Regards, Jon P. Kofod www.flatoutracing.net Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jon, GREAT PHOTO! I'm thinking that selling the 355 and BUYING a 355 Challenge car would be a better way to go. Of course, keeping hte 355 and buying a 355 challenge car would be even better Hope to see you out there again sometime. Kevin
I had a great time as usual watching the racing and walking around the pits... Maybe next year I'll be out there with the M Coupe Next year I'll remember to also bring a telephoto lens, more memory and spare batteries!
