Intersting! I have spent the last hour or two on the phone getting a idea of what it might cost to sort the rust, talking a few "reputable" Ferrari specialists. I have not linked names to costs, but will be willing to help out fellow enthusiasts as required by PM. Apart from the one company indicating that 308's are not worth saving and are owned by "Freds with sheds" everyone was helpful, some a little more so than others. The consensus was that this level of rust is typical of the vintage and should not be an overly onerous task to sort out. The details are as follows, but please note that all companies indicated that it was imposible to get a really reliable indication over the phone. A) £2-3k to sort out rust and spray lower part of car, additional £1k for full respray B) £4k for full bare metal respray, metal work another £1k on top C) £2-3k for metal work and partial respray, £6k for entire car D) £3.5k for full respray (not bare metal), £2k for metal work E) £4-5k for metal work and paint Hence it looks like about £5k should cover the work (cutting out the rust, letting in new metal and giving the car a full respray), which should make the car fit for another 10 years or so. What do people think, does thsi align with your experiences? Also, who has had any body work / spray painting from the following (in ramdon order): Verdi, Kent HP, Nick Cartwright, F355, Radley And who else might I try? Thanks for everyone's help so far!
