Greetings Jano wants to put on a half-day technical demonstration at his shop in Lewisville. Basically, he would like to explain how body shops do the magic they do, from frame straightening to paint work. Afterwards we could grab lunch somewhere. We've all seen the before and after, want to know how? I'd love some feedback on whether you all would be interested, what you'd like to see, and when would work best. (not a FCA event) Thanks T
Great idea. I attended a similar class at another body shop, to earn continuing education credit towards renewing my insurance license, and it was really interesting. I think everyone would enjoy it! EDIT: Also, maybe we could do a morning at Jano's, and an afternoon at Norwood? Just a selfish suggestion, since all the Norwood tours in the past happened before I was active in the local f-car actiities.
Sounds interesting to me. Just not this Saturday (the 19th) or the next one (26th - Easter weekend). After these two, Saturdays are open. I'll ask Rodney if he'd like to come, if he hasn't "sold" me yet! ;-)
Sounds good, but . . . . . . we have a Ferrari event every weekend starting with 26 March going thru 7 May. Carol
That's not the case based on my list. Besides, we're just gauging interest, this might be a summer or fall thing. I was told once that the way to get interest up in a club is to offer many events, so that people can make only a fraction of them and still feel involved in the club. With many very active Italian clubs in the area, the calendar gets a bit tight. MAFFIA, FCNT, FCA and Fchat events are all great, and gives an amazing chance to interact with other enthusiasts in the Metromess. The downside is that the schedule gets tight, but everyone can pick and choose their fun -- or, do it all!
I am definitely interested in this one. I used to sell material to body shops and got to meet some real masters and it was a delight to watch them work. It might be a good idea to schedule this on a Saturday morning, because there will inevitably be many questions and if there is a little time on the back side then perhaps they all can be answered. Great idea!!
We have a date! Saturday, June 25, 9:00 AM. Jano is going to show us how he unbends the cars we bend. Afterwards we'll go out for some hole-in-the-wall cheap Italian food, served by genuine Armenians (sort of the antithesis of Fine Dining) Who's in?
I'd love to go. Sounds like a great education. Count me in as well. I'll have to leave around 1:30 or so...but, yea...I'm up for it.
