The dumbest thing you've ever done in college...

I'm still in the process of that. Not studying though, i'm pretty good at that.

 

This is only dumb is you value your GPA (which, at the time, I did):

March Madness, 2001. Illinois advances to the Sweet 16 in San Antonio for a Friday/Sunday game set versus Kansas/Arizona. I had an non-reschedulable exam (35% of my grade) at 10 AM Monday morning. After traffic and whatnot, we hit full speed outside of SA around 8-ish, Sunday night. San Antonio -> Champaign, 1100 miles.

We rolled into town at 10:15, and I was still the second person to finish the exam

 

Yeah, but how'd you score on it?

 

I would drink between classes, have a few beers throughout the day at the bar on Campus......all during the summer, while having 5 classes which were 2.5 hours each, and the final summester of college.......4= 'A+' and 1= 'B+'..........

Pissed me off........all my friends were wondering how I did it.........drink before class and a couple of exams

 

Take organic chemistry.

oh, I know! Graduating! Wish I could have stayed another 15 years

 

as a freshman, ask an upper classman directions........

 

My dumbest probably had something to do with a couple pounds of thermite placed on the roof of a certain Chevy Chevette. God I miss New Mexico Tech!

 

It was maybe dropping out after three weeks! In thinking back, it was probably the best move of my life, as I would have wasted four years and missed key opportunities that brought me to where I am today.....Buddies with Darth!!!

Went streaking in a leopard male-thong on my last day of college. Ran inside and outside the campass.

 

1) Drove across a foot bridge at Michigan State in an RX/7 while people had to hug the rail to let us squeeze through, whilst my buddy and I were laughing so hard we were crying.
2) Shot bottle rockets at fellow students across a 4 lane boulevard from my 2nd story balcony out of a golf club tube mounted on my shoulder like a bazooka. That was funny, the dumb part was that I burned the crap out of my new shirt from the sparks.
3) Hit a car w/ a burned pizza from same balcony (see #2), who turned out to be campus police.
4) Found a pail of road paint in a construction area while walking home from the bar at 3:00 am and painted "NO LEFT TURN" on the road.
5) Spent WAY too much time studying for tests B4 I learned it was easier to sit by the smart kids. Hint: Keep your head looking down and only shift your eyes.

I'm in Orgo 2 right now and I have to agree with this statement. I have an exam on Wednesday and I don't know what I'm doing. But on the bright side, only 2 more lab meetings left for Orgo lab!!!!!!

 

Driving a used BMW 633 CSI instead of a new Acura Integra GS - R, the repair costs were killing me.

Not majoring in Automotive Aftermarketing & International Business.

Banging a fat girl then having my girlfriend find out about it. (Hey, I was drunk)

tried to jump over what turned out to be a bike cop on my rollerblades from the top of a set of stairs.

I plowed right into her.

It ended badly.

The stragest of which was an incident where some girl walked in on my after taking a piss. She was so proud of me for washing my hands that we ended up boinking right there.

 

Constructing a massive water balloon cannon (huge rubber/elastic cords stretched between two of the columns on the front of the home with a custom holding pad.... a giant sling shot type thing) and then shooting shaving cream and water filled balloons at the sorority girls across the street while they were doing their whole rush cheering/dance thing to a huge crowd. Sounds like innocent play.... right? Well we really misguessed the velocities that were possible. A fat chick took one right in the chest. Knocked her off her feet and back about 10 feet. Looked like she had been hit by a howitzer. Police....ambulance.... TROUBLE! She lived. They didnt catch the individuals responsible (me and others), but the entire fraternity did community service work (or at least all the pledges did!).

Then there was the late afternoon cocktail party where our social director mis-booked our bands. This was a nice, upscale and dress-up social event with catered food on the lawn for several of our favorite sororities. Think sweet girls all dressed up in sundresses in the late afternoon on a sunny spring day. Perfect time for a James Taylor wannabe to croon to them and put them in the mood, right? Well, the band turned out to be a twisted sister sort of ripoff heavy metal band. Their third song was "Whole lotta love" by Led Zeppelin. The lead singer comes out the front door of the fraternity house with a 15' long, amazingly accurate and real looking down to the flesh tone and shadowing paper mache penis. As the song hits its crescendo, he waves it over the crowd and it begins to spew forth a long plume of white smoke..... You can guess the girls reaction! I was laughing so hard I almost puked!

We had nutty parties. One annual party was sponsored by Budweiser. Drivin-n-cryin played on the front porch to a crowd of 5000 or so, the streets were closed off and refrigerated tractor trailer truck full of more beer kegs than I could count served everyone with abandon.... it really got nuts. Total insanity. 2 years later we couldnt even serve beer inside the house without risking big trouble (though we did, and eventually got booted off campus for all the infractions). All the rules and anti-under age drinking crack down killed fraternities IMHO.

Dumbest? Running from cops on a Honda CBR600 F2 through campus at night while drunk and jumping a large flight of outdoor stairs comes to mind. No idea how I pulled that off, looking at the stairs later there was no way I would even THINK about doing it!

Isnt college pretty much just 4-5 years of a neverending string of stupid things you do?
