355 tire valve stem loose & leaking

    One of my stock valve stems is loose. I can wiggle it and hear the air escape. The problem is there is no room to put a wrench around it to tighten it. The stem does have what appears to be a nut (base) but sure has no room to get a wrench around it.

    Do I need to have the tire taken off to tighten this stem? Or, is the tire shop going to have a better idea?

    I don't know if you can tighten the stem on a 355 rim without breaking the tire loose from the rim. On my 308 I had to have the tire broken loose of the rim(not removed) then I unscrewed the valve stem (I believe a screwdriver was used on the in the tire section) replaced both the inner and outer "O" rings and had the tire reinflated. If you have to do it this way, mark the tire and rim so they are placed back where they were or rebalance when done.
