I just purchased my first suv, a Black Cadillac Escalade and i'm thinking about putting some rims on it but i'm in a dilema. Should i put 22" Chrome rims or Black rims with a chrome lip on my suv?? Which would look cleaner? Thanks
Since bling is all an Escalade's for, I'll go ahead, bite the bullet and say 24" spinners. And I'm not kidding. I saw a while ago on Speed when they modded an Escalade and put 24" spinners, the wheel was all flat black, with just the spinner thingy chrome. Looked awesome.
I hate SUV's with bling bling rims. But since I see 150000000 escalades with rims a day at my school, Ill say go with the black rims. They look much cleaner. The chrome look stupid, especially spinners.
Get Spinnas Biotch !!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm getting Spinnas for my Gator LOL Image Unavailable, Please Login
Some serious modification was done to that car. Are those really the brakes? Nevertheless, The whole car looks very tacky.
I swear every other house in my neighborhood has a white escalade on 22" chrome wheels in the driveway. Such eyesores...
Spinners are "out" right now. Not as popular as they used to be. Personally I thought they were cool at first, but got old real quick. Normally I would say go with chromesbut if its a black truck, than I think black rims look best. Gotta make them at least 24s
I'd probably skip the chrome and color-matched wheels and just go with a simple design with a machined finish. We put some 18" wheels on my friend's Escalade (similar to the ones below) wayyy back in '98 and I always thought they just looked tough, especially with the larger tire. Of course, he also had the Brembo F50 caliper/rotor package on it, so that helped. -Chris Image Unavailable, Please Login
Korr, Love those 308 OEM Spinners! ______________________________________ Actually, If I can be of some use to GianPaolo.... Chris nailed it with those Enkei's
Are you sure 29" spinners won't fit? edit- nvm, I just found out you need gold teeth to be able to drive with those.
I got the same car and just have the stock chrome wheels but I do have the billet grill that I think looks great. The aftermarket wheel thing is too much for me. Mine is also black.
Not to trash your **** or anything, but how do like driving a school bus? (If it were me, i wouldn't have one, but if you gotta have one, shiny wheels just make the thing ghetto/urban). Does HRE make wheels that big? When i briefly thought about a black Murcie that a friend had repo'd and offered me on the cheap, i was definitely thinking black wheels.
go for quality not bling, also anything over 20 will weigh at least sixty pounds a corner reducing PERFORMANCE and brake capability . bbs rw in twenty is a direct bolt fitment for your cadillac, of course if money is no object hre forged wheel is the way to go imo bob willis
I was thinking something like these. What do you guys think? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/GianPaolo/blackescalade.bmp http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v439/GianPaolo/tripleblackescalade.bmp
i'd say go for the black rims with chrome lips. 22's will be fine for your application. i have a suburban with 22's, and it rides/handles fine. braking has been affected a lil, but mine is a 96, so brakes are craptastic anyways... the newer stlye GM vehicles (ie, urs) have much better brakes... u'll be fine... if u do however go to 23 or higher, get a big brake kit! don't be dumb. also, regarding the tv's that you guys seem to hate..i understand those who have them in the way back headrests etc, just showing off kinda stuff... thats just dumb. i'll admit, i have 3 tvs in my suburban, however, they are all in the front, two in the visors and one indash. i wish i woulda bought some for the rear headrests, but not for now... see, people actually travel in my car. so its nice for the road trips... but yea, i hear ya on the dumbass's who put tvs in the back for pure showing off...
