A friend of mine calls me from the Czech Republic occasionaly. He's almost as cheap as me, so apparently it works
Not sure what the catch is, I us Vonage which is a pay service that does the same thing and I absolutely love it. I will never have another land line again. The cool part is its cheaper than basic phone service and long distance is free.
Catch is you have to pay to "call" non-skype users through the normal telephone system. Regular internet to internet "Calls" are free.
Skype is a great programme, free calling to anyone else on skype,and very cheap calling anywhere in the world. Ive been using it to keep in touch with my family (in Holland) from new Zealand. Just like a phone call, except your using a mircophone at your computer
The wife and I used it as well as MSN Messenger..........we have recently stopped using it for 2 reasons.........first, I just found out that Skype is owned by E-Bay and I refuse to have anything to do with E-Bay or their affiliates. Secondly, MSN Messenger works better IMHO.
