This should be 4219/GT. If you compare the photos you will notice the grille is wider! Best wishes, Kare

I am convinced that your grandfather was involved with S/N 3223. Grossman owned this car twice and Larry Perkins was the owner in-between, which all matches your info. 3223 was the first production 250 GTO.
How many of the GTO's had that "indention" behind the rear wheels? What is the story on that? I've never noticed a GTO with one, but there was a "replica" at Texas World Speedway yesterday that had that and I told someone "that's the first thing I noticed it wasn't real".
I think most if not all of the 62 bodied cars had the opening. The 64 bodied cars had slots. I think they are for venting hot air from the rear brakes(correct me if I'm wrong). David Goerndt
To follow Rob's lead, I passed up a 63 Corvette split window coupe in 1975 for $1900 to buy a motorcycle. I still kick myself.

The fellow who sold me my 328 GTS, Bob Taylor, once owned 2643GT, the "Sperimentale" generally considered to be the 250 GTO prototype. He owned it for a year (1979-1980) and, I believe, turned a tidy profit, but nothing compared to what it might have been if he had held on to it a bit longer. When I bought my car, he gave me a copy of a painting he had made of 2643GT, but currently I can't find it. I can't find Bob right now, either, since he moved out of Sacramento, I believe to Hawaii. Meanwhile I finally got to see 2643GT (though I didn't recognize it in its new blue paint!) at Monterey last year; I believe it is currently owned by Bruce McCaw: Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think his son was on here recently selling copies of his fathers painting. I'll try to dig up the thread, it was in the collectables section.
Maybe we should retitle the thread to "The Ferraris that almost got away.." It's great to see a GTO owner/enthusiast on here.. I was getting tired of the 002C & 0846 threads anyways. Welcome! -Chris
I don't have any idea the actual usernames of the personalities or if they even registered. I just know after the thread "Celebrities on FerrariChat.com" that I got confirmation offline that the top names in Ferrari have been or are around and also celebrities that don't work for Ferrari, but share the passion just like all of us. Its pretty cool, but we should respect their privacy, just be careful what you say, they might be watching.
Please use the following thread for all 3223 discussions... http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45872 Thank you, rob
i have this old ad from road and track a ferrari 250lm for sale in antwerp for 8000$... who wants to give them a call, perhaps it's not sold yet! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Bob is MY dad! Anyone who wants to hear some fantastic stories from 70's, 80's, 90's on Ferrari ownership just needs to ask.... ;-p I am in the process of compiling a list of SN's that passed through my father's hands. At one point, he was one of the premier restorers of Ferrari's on the west coast in the late 70's early 80's. His shop was called Concours Inc.
