Here's the conclusion; 4.5 /5 " The 430 is irrestible, whether you're viewing it from the kerb or in the driver's seat. It's surprisingly tractable & usable , comfortable over long distances and quickly inspires confidence..It 's also the 1st Ferrari , certainly in modern times, that feels like it has the depth of mechanical integrity to absorb really hard driving , again & again. Most of all , the 430's searing pace, grip , involvement & soundtrack remind you of what you always hoped a supercar would be. Although the slighly disappointing 0-60 MPH time and paucity of mid-range torque deny it a full five star rating , the 430 is perhaps the most exciting high-performance driving machine of the moment, and prob one of the finest Ferraris ever. Accolades don't come much higher than that".
"hat feels like it has the depth of mechanical integrity to absorb really hard driving , again & again" dont they always say that?
0-60 MPH= 4.4 secs 0-100 =9.3 secs stding qtr mile= 12.6 secs/ 119 mph standing km = 22.4/152 mph 30/70 mph thru gears = 3.4 secs 30/70 in 4th gear= 6.3 secs

Times are funny things. If they test two-up and with full, or even half tanks, that could explain why the times are slower than other published times... I'm just guessing...
this is why evo is the only british car mag I will read... stuff the empty performance figuers and focus on the driving experience. How can "the most exciting high-performance driving machine of the moment, and prob one of the finest Ferraris ever" not be 5/5?
I understand the concept of a ringer, but those times are horrible for a car like that. I don't just mean in comparison to the F40 like quick F430s we've been hearing about, but next to even a 360(non-autocar test). It is faster, but not much. I mean, if this is the car they were using in the M5 test I can kind of understand their findings. It's 2 seconds slower to 100mph than in other tests. That's bigger than the difference between an Enzo and F50 or F50 and 360.
British auto mag's are notoriously anti-Ferrari. No way I believe those performance data. Obviously results depend upon who is driving- fuel load- topography of the course-equipment used- ambient temp (lower-faster) and perhaps most of all BIASE! I have had a 355,360 now a 575MM and have driven my friend's 430.It is easily faster than the aforementioned (and the 575 is reportedly a 4.2 0-60 car) I take that report with a salt mine!
Nope man , the Brits love Ferrari`s . A lot . Only that at Autocar the editors are.......well.... Take a look at Evo & TopGear , the best from Europe , if you want to find the real thing about a Ferrari then read those magazines. Good info on US based mags : CarAndDriver & Road&Track.
I think it's not even specific for Autocar, they did great reports about F-cars in the past. So probably it's only that particular editor (with the BMW-glasses).
Without doubt, EVO is one of the best mags available; I like it much better than Autocar. I love Octane also.
