If I recall correctly Mike was very happy with his dealings with CEC. Mike-3 words HOT HOT HOT! Best wheels for the 550! Period.
Very slick! One suggestion though, take 3/4" out of the rear ride height and IMO it would look perfect.
Christ Mike... you're going all out here. How're you liking them? You know how I feel about wheels, so if they get the MG-go-ahead, I'm sold! --Dan BTW - did you get a chance to weigh vs. stock or mod?
WOW....those are pretty damn good looking. The 550 was never a car to be called "boring" but these rims just give the car a new better, updated and more agressive look. Good choice!
Thanks! CEC was very nice. The rims are expensive - but I like them much better than HREs. Stephens - you are absolutely right about taking 3/4" out of the rear ride height. I will get that done soon. (I followed your lead on the K&N airfilters and x-pipe). Dan, I already like them - but will do some heavy driving today and report back. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That looks awesome! For a second there, I thought those photos were from Novitech's site or CEC's site. Your car is clean!
What are the offsets of the wheels? When I run a 335 rear on mine with the 30mm spacer, using standard offsets, the top of the tyre stops just short of protruding from the rear guards, even when running almost 3 degrees of negative camber.
Looks great Mike... those Novitec's are the only aftermarket alloys I like better than the OE wheels.
Stephens - I will have to check. here are two more photos that show how they do fill out the wheel well. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It looks awesome. IMO the Daytona seats with the inserts are a must. I don't know much a bout 550's but, I'm guessing the leather shelf was an option with the 550 or it wasn't available for the 550. I saw one on a 575 a while back and I thought it looked real nice. The rims look great also.
How's the handling affected by these mods? My 550 (Fiorano package) handes like a dream, and now that I slightly bent a rear rim while driving enthusiastically on Swiss mountain roads I may consider an upgrade similar to yours. The only thing that worries me is that the beautiful balance of the 550's handling may be ruined by fitting such wide tires with spacers at the back: it may make the rear end too "stiff" and difficult to turn around with the throttle, thus making the car too understeering and unresponsive on really twisty roads, ultimately less agile and less fun. What's your opinion?
