Guys, George from G-Wiz (detailing shop) called to remind me that he is sponsoring a car show in downtown Westfield, NJ on Wednesday night July 20. I think the show starts at around 5;30pm. For those of you who didn't go last year, it was a lot of fun and the cars ranged from Ferrari's to 60's muscle cars. There are many places to eat and drink in the immediate area as well. Please post if you intend on going and list the car you would drive to the show. The cars are all parked in the street of the downtown area and the roads are blocked off to traffic (very safe...) Thanks, Scott
Hey Scott, we met last year at this show. As a Westfield resident (and regular G-Wiz customer) I'm a regular at these things. Don't tell George I told you but if you decorate your car with enough G-Wiz literature at the show, he may give you a free detail! LOL. I'd be willing to host a pre-car show meet at my house and then we could all drive over in style.
I remember.... You had the immaculate yellow 355. I no longer have the Maserati. The latest toy is a 2004 Gallardo... Unfortunately, I can't make the show.
Thanks for the heads up about the car show, I will be there !! Westfield is a great town, Love Theresa's and Brick Oven pizza. Looking forward to it
I believe it is exit 135 off the Parkway, west of the parkway exit (north or south). It is near the Clark,Fanwood,Union areas A great town, lots of great restaurants and shops for the wives.
Common Len, a Teaneck resident should know where Westfield is! ;-) Straight down the GSP about 35 minutes from Teaneck...great town, and very much like Ridgewood with an active town center.
Where in Westfield? You can also take exit 137 going onto Rt 28 towards Cranford, but keep going through downtown Cranford into Westfield....
Take GSP Exit 135. Go straight west about 3 or 4 miles, you will come right into the center of Westfield. I'm planning on taking my '69 XKE Roadster down there, if the weather is good.
I went last year. We got there about 5:30 & had a very tough time parking. If we go this year we should either 1) Pre-arrange with the sponsors parking 2) Go much ealier. I was hearing 4:00pm from some of the folks there. just my .02 cents. But I'm in.
If you guys call George at G-Wiz, he can probably arrange for an area to park the cars ahead of time.
I don't have a sweet ride, but I will show up to gawk at all of yours. I'll see if I can talk my brother-in-law to bring his M3 competition. (I'll also see if he can talk his boss in to bringing his Gallardo too)
As I recall, he's the one that tried to take care of us last year....our arranged spots were given away & we squished in the middle of the intersection much to the dismay of local fire officials & police. But he did get us in.
yes your memory serves correct... last year was somewhat of a clusterfu.., well you know what I mean. Great town, great show, but if your intention is to display, by all means, get there early.
Todd, What time are you planning to head down? I'm right around the corner from you, if you recall (two doors up from Dennis and Georgette). You're welcome to ride in the Jag with me if you want. Steve
