How come Felipe can get behind the F-2005 in Monza already, saw it on "F1-live" it said he's "getting to know the car". so he gets to drive 2 different car in 1 season?
Ferrari would have to have asked Sauber for permission to test their cars before January 1 (when Massa ceases to be employed by Sauber, and officially begins employment with Ferrari).
He has permission but Michelin was a bit uneasy with the situation and from now on Massa won't get any info on which tires he'll be testing with Sauber.
So that he can give his current team the spec of a very bad car, this minimised the competition for next year - only joking, dont shoot me yet.
Being a Sauber fan, I have to admit you're probably right. The current Sauber is one of my biggest disappointments this year. Hence I don't see much of knowledge transfer to Ferrari other than on how not to do it.
I believe it's his knowledge of Mich tires that would be of use (or potential use) not his knowledge of chassis specs. I agree Sauber with wind tunnel, Ferrari V10's and Mich tires and all are the biggest disappointment for me as well this year.
Add a brand new CFD super computer, a former world champion and a driver Ferrari considers to be good enough to drive their cars to the list. And then look at the dismal results.
actually, according to ross brawn, when massa was contracted to ferrari back in 2001, he says that it states that ferrari can call on massa anytime if they feel they want to run a test on him.
