Who is going upto Breck Sunday Morn ?? This is the Event that will support the building of a racetrack in Breck to replace the one in Steamboat. I am coming from Denver (Downtown) and can meet along I-70, thinking about 9am or so. -A

Brian, this will be perfect for you when you're here. the town voted for a new track to be build along Hwy 9 before entering the town. 30 feet wide, 1. 5 or more in lenght...So far things looks very good. Thanks to all who helped there.Losing 2nd Creek and no more Steamboat, this could be a great things for us all Roland F40LM
Awesome! I'm psyched! Will it be "country club" style... can I join? Or arrive and drive? Or car-club-oriented? Or what? Where exactly? In the fields of trailings? Between the commercial buildings along Airport and 9? In the big area used for cheap parking during ski season? North of Tiger Rd? I'm having a lot of trouble picturing where they'd fit this... with 9 and the Blue River, there's not a lot of space in that skinny valley. I'm also a bit surprised, given the common rants against snowmobiles, that the residents didn't balk at the noise potential. I'm guessing that the permanent preservation of "sight lines" won out over noise pollution, given 9 is already quite noisy.
Wow, I hadn't heard this. I am all for a track in Breckenridge! I have a house there and this would definately entice me to spend more time there in the Summer. Any pointers to more information on the plans!? Second Creek was a fun little track, little to no room for mistakes, but good spirit.
No details at this stage, just that it will before the town entrance along Hwy 9. They were talking about a 30 feet wide track.. Nostalgia racing is behind all the talk and efforts to get that going. Roland F40LM
I would like to add, that if you want to show your support, and are interested in having a track as close as Breck, then contact Nostalgia racing, and talk to jimmy, and show your support, even if its just calling to say "rock on".. They need to know that if they build it, they will come.. dont take for granted that people will assume that if it is built that everyone will use it. -A
Jimmy Aretakis is the pres.of Nostalgia racing. That was the Matthews (Mc Laren) and Jimmy goal to have a track out there and they did a lots of work with the city to get that far.. Roland F40LM
FYI... from what I have heard now, what is being built is a park on the land the city bought to potentially be an airport. Some are trying to get the paths built in such a way that they could have a vintage car race once a year... but that it would NOT be a regular racetrack. While I'd love to run down the street and enjoy a vintage race each year, I won't be able to take out my Stradale (guess I'd have to buy that Dino I've always wanted)... and its by no means a 2nd Creek replacement. Denver needs a Motorsport Ranch... somebody that buys up some of that unused land in Park County or similar and drops a nice wide track with huge elevation changes and huge run-offs and no walls to hit. Then setup reciprocal relationships with the other Motorsport Ranches (Dallas / Houston) and with the new Miller Motorsports ... then we'd have something!!
Yes, Brian, that new track will be a annual event only. FYI, a new track will be build East of Denver ( Watkins) and should a 3 miles type. They hope for being open end of 06. For time being, I still use Mead to do my school, less traffic, more challenging for my students. See you soon, we will be Aspen Sunday the 18th, are you around ??(Ferrari club Foliage Tour) Roland F40LM
Cool. Website on it yet? Oh, how I wish! Nope, stuck here in the heat working too darn hard. Maybe next year.
