It's been two years since I got my 308 carb. The car was real slow when I got it. Plus reading a lot about the 308 many criticize that that's how it is, slow. But it always got me wonder; by spec when new, it accelerate from 0to60 in 6.5 seconds. That's faster a modern BMW 3 series and that's faster than most sports cars even today. So, I have nearly everything replaced rebuilt renewed and it got faster.... until this last month I got the distributor rotor plus two day ago got the distributor cap replaced................ That's it. The old cap looked really old. The copper parts inside look all black. I douted there were any electrical contact at all. I have to readjust the carb to cope with much better current. Now, the car is fast, fun, fast........ I couldn't stop driving it the whole day.

Just a sugguestion, renewing a dristributor rotor and cap really bring the car to live........... try it.

Patpong - what the hell have you done to that car to make it look so good? IT IS STUNNING!

Are the side mirrors standard units that you have colour coded. I know you have painted the roof spoiler, but anything else? As BT says, it just looks so modern and up to date.

That could have just determined my stop gap car until I manage to get the 512! Do you have any shots of the interior?

    al :)

Thank you guys, I think the wheels give a modern look to the car. It's a Speedline. The rear spoiler was added on which I thought was nice. The front hood is stock with 2 slots, not 4 slots of the QV, The exterior still got some rust here and there. It has bother me a bit, but I'll take it for now. The side mirrors are stock with body paint. The interior was fine when I got it, just needed clean up and I really cleaned it all up... I added interior pictures in my album...

BigAl, check the cap and rotor, if it has not been renew. It's time to do it. I promise you feel big change in performance, way more than you pay for the cap and rotor...

Pat's 'yellowbird' is the most beautiful 308 in Giallo that I've seen. Must make it a point to drive up to BKK when I get back to KL and see it in person..Good to hear that it's healthy..

I went through the same thing with my Europa. When I bought it in 2001 it was okay quick but nothing special. It got better when I learned how to balance the carbs, and better again with new wires, cap and rotor. Now it's about as quick as your car (0-60 just under 7 seconds). Yes, these old sports cars DO have enough kick to be fun when you set them up right.

Another thing people let go is wheel alignment. You don't realize how bad yours is until you get it done and see how well your car can actually handle.

Great looking 308, the yellow really stands out! Years ago, I was in Bangkok as part of a trip around the world. It was, by far, one of my favorite world cities.

Sawatdee,...(hello) as Russ spoke Thai to me.
I got a lot of responds of how enjoyable Bangkok is. I never reliaze that as I am Thai and live here everyday. Other countries in the region has became westernized but Bangkok remain in its own character. And that's different and fun in our own style. So, we develop but in our own way. Plus, I find the Thai's are more friendly. Eventhough Bangkok is a major city of more than 10 million people, we tend to go easy compare to other big city...

The Speedline on my 308 is 16". I think it best suit the 308...

Yes, it is stock yellow Ferrari... sorry I got paint code. The car was not originally in this color. It was change from original black to white to red then to this yellow. and, Yellow is also my favorite for this 308 shape so it suits me fine...
