OT : Is Staffordshire far from London ?

Nearer Norf than Sarf - well outside the M25 - beyond even Birmingham........might even be 'countryside' whatever that is ??

 

It's just a few miles North West of Birmingham. Depending on your destination it would take around 2½ hours from Heathrow Airport and be around 150 miles.
Add about another hour if you're travelling from central London at the wrong time of day!

Ahhh....the heart of our great nation. Staffordshire was singularly responsible for putting the Great into Britian. And the people....honest, generous, hardworking salt of the earth types, sexual gods and model citizens one and all.

Alas, not far enough!

Unless you have people you WANT to spend the evening with in Staffs, or a friendly bunch of F-chatters to meet up with, I would hot-foot it back to London as soon as you can, ideally, get the country bumpkins to meet you in the big city to save you having to visit the arm-pit of England in the 1st place!

That should make up for the P/H thread being closed!!!

Stoke on Trent, the home of Wedgewood, Dalton and all those other wonderful pottery makers was there. Now it is said to be the most depressing place to live in the UK.

I always thought Stafford was the first place the Ruskies were targeting to Nuke. Oh yes and as for oatcakes, well they can definitely be left in the loo. Well one needs something to wipe one's bum on.

I was born in the county town of Stafford. Anyone with any sense did as I did ... THEY GOT OUT!!!

Great roads...esp up around Cannock and the chase, It is however, the speed camera capital of GB

Tel me about it.....I live off the A34, I think there is something like 11 cameras in a two mile stretch. The road angel does'nt even have time to stop beeping at me.
