Lowering my F430

Noitec makes springs that lower the car 31 mm. I installed them on my car. It takes about 4 hours including an alignment. The springs cost about $1,000.

I have looked at the Novitec springs but the did not have spring rate or a comparison to the stock springs

Mark do you have this information? – any info how the car behaves after the change?

I did have FoS lower my car 1” front and rear (plus skid plates) – it would have been possible to lower the car by another 0.5” and stay writhing F spec (see finger test below)

I have seen several F430 bottom out on the track – sparks flying - so ground clearance may be severely compromised - biggest worry is that it’s going to tear the bottom of the car up on the track (or during spirited driving) – so 1” seems to be the best compromise

I have a serious problem with the body roll of the F430 – don’t care so much about the aesthetics – after the CS this is simply a letdown – faster in the straight slower in turns – too bad

Interestingly enough the much discussed F430 Supertest article of Horst Von Saurma’s Sportauto and the 7.55 min time reflects this. The article itself is the most positive I have read from the guy about a Ferrari – lots of praise – however each annotation of the different track measurements states that the car was slow on the track because of excessive body roll – measurements that are not impacted by the setup are excellent – this makes sense to me

To cut a long story short – has someone taken the car to the track lowered? – I worry that the car still suffers from soft springs
