From a presidential debate that included Dan Quayle, "I know the F40, and you sir (F430) are not an F40". Or something like that.

this thread reminded me of just how deeply amazed I was
when I realized the "entry level" 430 is capable to outperform an F40

I think what is more interesting will be to see what Ferrari does with the Enzo replacement now that the Veyron has debuted.

Nope, the 430 is a fantastic car, but will never be worthy of "legend" status..

as good as it is, it's the "poverty pack" model for gods sake... you CANNOT buy a cheaper new Ferrari than a F430...!!!

I agree about a CS version... desirable.

If James Dean or Mickey Mouse would crash and eventually die in one, maybe.

    But the odds are bad.

    Ok i got it.
    I put this thread for
1-its the cheapest ferrari for stock product right?

2-but if you compare it to the other stock product cars a 575M,612 Scagletti and F430.
F 430 has the best performance for the list at ferrari official site for recent models. The techincal data at ferrari official site the best performance is F430
(I mean the F430 Challenge, 575 GTC and FXX are race cars not street right)

Thats why i post this forums. Ferrari's cheapest and entry level model but the performance is best for now.
But i got it its not limited edition thats right

Sort of.... That is like saying the Enzo eclipsed the F40. Newer and faster does not necessarily equate to better. Each of these cars has its own personality and qualities. A 288 is just as great and the F50 and when the F430CS comes it too will be great, but not in a way that renders the older cars obsolete.

As for that standard F430, it is not a collector car, even if it is a "keeper."

really it's not one of the super ferraris, maybe cannot be mentioned with F40,F50,288GTO and the enzo.but it still will be remembered just like any other ferraris

It seems more likely a limited production car like the CS would become a "legend".

They may be making more F430s than 360s, but the Ferrari world market is increasing faster than production. You have to look at the number of US cars--perhaps that may decrease with the Chinese, Russian, and Middle Eastern markets opening up with more and more dealerships. In effect, we may have fewer 430s in the US vs. 360s at the end of production. Right now, coupes are becoming harder to find already.

I'm just saying " it's the one to watch" Only time will tell if it is a legend. My point being the 430 CS has the best chance of the 360/430 series.

In this country, where a cop making a tough arrest or a fireman extinguishing a fire are overnight HEROES, I would not be surprised if a car like the 430 becomes a legend. Elsewhere like in Europe where there is seemingly more objectivity and fewer emotions, it's just a good car...

Sure, the 430 has a chance of making the history books. At the rate Ferreri is mass producing cars, the 430 could end up being the most produced Ferrari in history. Would that status make it valuable? Hardly. Not the kind of status I would want my Ferrari to have.

Why, exactly, would production slow in the future?

The production will not slow for years for the 430. If anything, they will keep increasing them as long as the demand is there. Just like the 360, then at some point the next generation 430 will be unveiled and 430 demand will dry up as everyone signs up for the next model.
By that time, 430's will be out there in droves even more than 360's.

Remember ferraris were not made in America they were made "elsewhere like in europe" well in fact Italy (in thehart of europe) were they have the most emotions;) Why would you think europe thinks it just another good car as oposed to how the Americans feel.?
