Im just wondering if theres a conversion kit available to change the 348 taillights to look like the 355 like the pic below. The owner of the car says that he bought the 348 as is so he doesnt know himself. If anyone knows where to purchase this kit or knows if its custom work, please let me know. That would grrrrrrreat. thanks!

Looking at the angle of the taillights, the setup in the photo you provided is likely the kit from GARedCars/SL Performance. I think it looks great.

I think the car looks much better and more like a Ferrari with the round tail lights. If I had a 348 I would do the conversion.

Does anyone know which Ferrari was the first to have round tail lights?

My favorite subject when it comes to a 348, having gone through the conversion, and having the a 355 challenge grill custom made to fit, trust me when I say that the angle from GARedCars/SL Performance is completely wrong. Should you go with it, your rear lights will be angled up, by a good %.
Ray from GARedCars has a retrofit to angle them better, but it still not right by my humble standards. I like my conversion best, its the silver 348 in the topic that Brent linked up, and so far I think its the best I have seen. And I did do alot of research on this subject both here and in Europe.

Agreed Albert... It bothers me too but I haven't gotten the chance to make it better yet with all the other abnormalities on my car. Keep us updated on your work, I would love to get something better!

yeah i like the way yours turned out. maybe when i purchase a 348 in the near future, you can refer me to the place where u got it done. I was wondering also how much did u pay for the whole conversion including install, challege grill, etc...? u can PM me about that. Also, if you can post more pics of your car that would be awesome. thanks

To Dean325i, I will send you a PM tonight when I get in, and to JoTeC, thanks., the good thing about these conversions is if they are done right, its a 2 hour job to return it to the factory rear lights and rear cheese grater !
I spoke to Ray from GARedCars for quite some time when I was first looking into doing this, and since you already have his rear panel, he had mentioned to me that he has some washers that he installs to "angle" the rear lights. It maybe worth a call to him.

The place is called Specialty Car Craft, the owner is Steve, good guy and has knowledge on our cars, has done a few FCHAT Runs. The phone number is 310-838-5551, they are on La Cienega Blvd. North of the 10 FWY on the same side of Blackhorse Motors. I highly recomend him. Let me know if you go with it, or if you would like to see my car in person, send me an email. We should make it a 348 run, I still want to see Brent's car and all the upgrades he has done.

Albert, my car will be at Premier Motorsports in Culver City for their concourse detail on Monday. It should be there for a couple days. Maybe we can meet there. Would love to see your 355 grill.

Brent, bad timing, but your car will look great, I cannot say this enough, the way that Premiere details Cars is unbelievable.
Well then that settles it, the 348 brotherhood needs a 348 run!

What does garedcars charge for the conversion ?

They mention that the panel they supply is of carbonfiber
Is the quality good enough to leave it unpainted, like a challenge grill ?
