After getting on a flight last week I got those same questions..did you pack your bag, did you leave it unattended anywhere, did anyone ask you to carry something on board for them? So, that sparked my question. Have any of you ever had someone at an airport as you to put something in your bag for them? It cant be that uncommon if they have to ask right?

Yeah a friend asked me to carry her shoes and blow dryer from Spain to America. When they asked me if I was carrying anything for someone else, I should have said no.

True story...years ago back in my high school daze. Coming back from London on a class trip, two girls (cheerleaders) ask if they can pack some of thier clothes in my bag as they went crazy shopping and have no room for it themselves. Of course i agree. Right before boarding the plane some officials ask to inspect my bags. Out come's some lingerie and sex toys they packed in my bag, i had not been in the room when they packed this in my bag.
The girls had a great laugh, as did the officials and me being 16 well i was as red as a lobster. Im pretty sure i got set up!

Don't do it, unless you really, REALLY know the person and can inspect the item during packing.

If you get caught with someone else's drugs entering my country, you have a very good chance of being hanged.

Never did, lost touch with them after H.S. Maybe 7 years later at a club, my friends start commenting on the hot cocktail waitress. Turns out its the wilder of the 2 cheerleaders. I motion for her to come over, not telling my friends who she is. She comes over recognizes me, before she can say a word. "Kelly great to see ya, think ya left some clothes in my bag!"
We all had a good laugh...

The reason for the question comes from an incident over 20 years ago. A pregnant girl from London was asked by her Arab boy friend to carry a package to Beirut (he had gone ahead earlier). Something triggered an inspection and the package was found to be a bomb with an altimeter as a trigger.

Im still trying to get Mule to rhyme with Fool. MEW EL, FOO OOL.

Maybe in an Eminem song, but not in a traditional Run DMC manor.

More like a "country and western" mannEr. (Not manOr, which is a large country estate.)
But if you do help somebody carry something on board a plane, you could easily end up with plenty of time on your hands to sing country and western songs, behind bars, with a harmonica, and a guy named Big Bubba as your new wife,....er,...I mean cell mate.

Yeah. This one Arabic guy asked my put little thing that said "TNT" in my bag and press button. After I got off the plane, I remembered that I forgot to press the button, so I just gave it to some kid. I never really thought anything of it. I wonder what the button did. Hmmmm.

One guy from work was being extra careful with a very expensive fiber optic spicing tool he was bringing out to the site. It was a small briefcase sized device intended to fuse glass fibers in a seamless splice. Due to the cost and fragile nature of the equipment, he carried it on instead of checking it.

But when he was asked by airport security what it was, the term "fusion splicer" got him a whole bunch of attention. ;)

I borrowed (on a trip) a very long, specially made, socket attachment used to remove the nut on the input shaft of my 308's transmission before doing a clutch job. The damned thing looked just like a heavy duty pipe bomb. I had fun getting that through the checkpoint. (I didn't want to pack it in my check in luggage as it was a very expensive tool to replace if it got lost).
