Anyone one know of where or if such an item can be purchased in order to remove the single center retaining nut on an '87 TR? I want to either get a socket that will fit a 1/2"-3/4" drive breaker bar and would prefer that the socket be say, teflon lined, to help protect the chrome finish of the center nut from being dis-figured. Any input and/or guidance would be appreciated..................Kerry

    Kerry,

There was a thread, several months ago, that covered that very subject, although it primarily addressed the three-wing nuts instead of the octagonal nuts, but same idea. Try an F-chat search with keyword “knock-off”. Two good threads are: ”Boxer Wheel Wrench” and “Knock-off Tool and Battery Clamp”. I got mine from Stainless Steel Brakes, but had to modify it quite a bit to suit me and my application (three ear).
