That should be interesting. I read in a boxer book regarding the lambo at the time when the BB came out and they said the focus on the lambo was to get from point a to point b as fast as possible without comfort being a consideration. Ive never driven an LP400 but they say they arent as comfy or as easy to drive as the boxer.
I have read the article, its very short, uninformative and dissapointing. Definitely not up to the usual standard of this magazine. Also the values they palce on the cars, esp the Boxer are way off the mark even when not taking into consideration the recent rise in selling prices here. Steve
The Countach is a car for someone that wants to be somebody. The Boxer is a car for someone that already is.
Had a countach, have a boxer. Countach like a camaro fast and crude, boxer ,more refined like a merc sl. Countach was much more nimble a low speeds, boxer can feel ponderous below 50. Countach unstable at high speeds ie above 150, boxer just gets better with speed.Countach brakes felt stronger. Boxer acceleration feels stronger countach seems to have more on top if you can hang on. You really cant see out a countach except forwards, side and rear quater vision is virtualy nil. Countach tranny sounded and felt like it was made in a tractor factory. Boxer drivable with great all around vision. Countach looks more exotic, boxer mre subtle. Boxer motor smoother. Boxer more confortable. Apples and oranges really.
Welcome to the nobody club. We had elections last week, nobody showed up so nobody got elected. I have a Boxer, that nobody around here knows about, so to them, I too am a nobody in an Audi. Nice combination of cars you have.
they had the very same article in april or june of 2003 or 2004. of course, they didn't pick a clear winner, each car had its niche. you could summarize the article with what boxerman said. john
The Boxer is a classic and looks better every time I see one. The Countach has aged poorly, with more ductwork on top than an old factory. I haven't owned either car; just my opinion after seeing them for 20 years. I never see them on the road, though.
LOL, classic. I likes the looks of the Countach better, but would guess that I would like driving the Boxer more.
jon...you do know that you will be owning a boxer soon. it is just a matter of time! peter sweeny from forza said to me during my boxer hunt, " the boxer just sucks you in"!! he was eluding to the fact that once you start thinking about the purchase, the car will just absorb you!
I feel a ban coming on... First I need to start investing in garage space and stop spending on cars... but I admit the black Boxer over at Bobileff's is reason enough to drive by his shop.
