Although Audi has better performance cars than Lexus, their prices on every car are rediculous. They have very plain, 1990s styling, and resemble a VW too much to me.

Lexus, I like the Toyota reliability and hybrid capability.

Mercedes over BMW because I think Mercedes looks more classy and I prefer the AMGs over BMW's M-cars.

I'd say the top 3 would be VERY close

    BMW
Audi (just a LITTLE bit over Merc because the Mercs that I've driven ride a bit too soft for my liking)
    Merc
    Lexus

With the pricing involved in my choices, just swap the Merc/Audi

Big fan of Lex - can't beat the reliability, and if you have been in a GS450h. Holy smokers, sweet car. No engine noise, smoother than smooth and you can still have fun. Going 100 feels like 45.

Merc - classy baby, and the AMG's push. I was in an old C32 with the V6 Komp. and I felt like I was flying. Can't imagine what these 63's feel like.

BMW - very love/hate with me. I like the older models. prior 5-series still is hard to beat design wise, man.

Audi - love their leather smell. mm. An older S8 is so sleek. Love those.

    1. Mercedes for me personally. Perfect combination of luxury, performance, and class for me. The AMG are just brutal beasts. All four lines are wonderful machines and we are grateful to have four different companies that have such fierce competition towards one another. I will say that the newest BMW model, although a wonderful modern design has lost a little bit of its timeless look that I fell in love with in pervious eras. The Lexus flagship model has become seriously dated in design. Audi on the other hand has gained a little bit of my respect in the performance category over the last several years but still come up a bit shy in the luxury category when I sit in one.

Besides Lexus, I think i'd be happier with a Volvo 240, S70, or late 80's early 90's Saab 900, rather than the Merc, BMW or Audi

Not to be an a$$ but i have owned many, and will brag about the Lexus brand. Have 2 currently, and the reliabilty, service cost, has them all beat. And they are the least expensive of the bunch, and at the service at Lexus you are treated like gold.

My next would be BMW....had a 325 for the wife, and a 535 were great lasting cars...abit expensive on the repairs, but a very close 2nd

3rd would be the Audi, had a 5000 turbo in 1987, had none of the plagues that were ever reports...great car, never rusted...interior was great...once again high on repairs. My audi 100 after that was jsut as great, just under power.

4th and last, this would be the last car company I will ever give my money to again BENZ....by far JUNK>>>JUNK >>>>>JUNK !!

97s320 brand spanking new........full of electrcial problems....even took a shower in it on a very cold day for 45 minutes in traffic when the moonroof would not close in rush hour.....(Dealership laughed when i drove in........garbage service)

2000 55amg.......brand spanking bew again (wife again to cinvince cause she liked).....burned oil from the moment after my first service after 12,oookms....a litre a week....2 separate dealersips telling me thats in the manual its normal consumption..............sent that garbage back

Aside from the styling....MERCEDES BENZ IS JUNK !!! there service centres are too busy and dont care.......and they are over priced.

Good luck to everyone whom has one, i hope you never have any problems with them, but as far as im concerned there are much better quality built cars on the market, the 3 pointed star is a mess.

I laugh everytime i see them DNF on the grid in F1.

    Sorry for the rant.

I will completely agree with you here....the Lexus service department and the way they treat you cannot be matched from my experiences. My MB dealership is definitely not on par in that area. They treat you very nice, but don't roll out the red carpet like they did at the lexus dealership.

    The reliability of Lexus
    The room of BMW

    .

BMW used to be my favorite, best blend of driving dynamics and feel to comfort, bar none. MB's do not drive as well, and reliablity has suffered compared to the 80s, but damn 550hp/600+ ftlb is hard to turn down! Audi's are getting better and better.

Lexus, well, I would rather drive a tin can..it probably has better steering feel.

    Now:

    1. Lexus
    2. BMW
    3. Audi (Great product now, but their past haunts them)
    4. Mercedes

I've owned cars from each except Audi in the past and have seen the quality of Mercedes slide.

In the 80's and 90's I would have had them:

    1. Mercedes
    2. BMW
    3. Lexus
    4. Audi
