You take the top 5 best profiles and make them each a full page. The next best 10 profiles get a half page each (5 pages total). This rewards those who put the effort into making the best profiles, which improves the look of the mag. Everybody else shares 10 pages. So that takes 20 pages but lets everyone who sends you their profile get into print. 30 people, 60 people, 100 people, no problem. You could even make the profile pages regional like a football program. Figure 3 pages for best track/road-trip/348 driving stories. 1 page for parts cross-reference. That leaves 20+ pages for performance tricks, 348 detailing/operational tips, and repair/maintenance pictorial tutorials (step-by-step).
This is all sounding very cool. Im happy to do what you guys want to do. What time frame are you looking at from start to finish Paul?? We dont want to rush this. Make it a very special issue. Im also happy to pay more if there are more brothers that want to join and the the print cost goes up with more pages. The more pages the better. Im easy.
Agree, more pages for tips/repair and how to do stuff. I've found the perfect "Story of the 348" site on the web, which cover the entire 348 line up. So that part is done! When it comes to profile pages, then I guess we just have to wait and see how many people who'll sign up. But this "top 5 profile" thing is a great idea! I just hope we're not being unfair in a way for certain people.
Pap I appreciate your entuhsiasm, but I think by adding more pages will increase the costs much, much more pr mag....cuz 48 pages is standard. I dont have the prices for +48 pages but I'll check it out! In the mean time (if you're bored) please list up as many 348 web sites you can think of (everyone can do that) these web sites will be printed in the mag. I dont know how many 100% 348 sites there's out there, so I need your head here
