No, but a complicated quartz watch rubs me the wrong way. Certainly beautiful dialwork on that Citizen.
Its a great looking watch...a lot of quartz watches are and at $69 or so they're great. But as the owner of multiple watches from Rolex to Tag to Cartier, ect...I just like the complex automatic movements rather than the electric/quartz movements like come in a clock radio....especially if I'm spending from several hundred to several thousands of dollars on it...
That Duty charge is real.....anything coming to you from outside US will generate this charge, unless prepaid by the shipper.. Stuff I order from Collector Studio in Canada does the same......if you don't have an account (like a company address) they MAKE you one and bill you!
"$12.95 gets you a Timex, anything past that is jewelry!" Wisdom according to Dad Enjoy your watches guys!
My black version showed up yesterday. Same problem as MPatrizio--watch rubbed against the bottom of the lid hard enough to take chunks out of the lid(!). I'm amazed there isn't more damage on the watch given that the bottom of the lid looks like someone took a screwdriver to it. The box is impressive but the internal protection in shipment is laughable. Anyone in this boat that managed to get an exchange out of ferraristore?
I am the total opposite. My $5000 Rolex is self winding and non quartz. My $700 Tag is Quartz with a battery. What this means to me is for $4300 more I get a watch that can't keep time as well as a $15 drugstore one because of the movement and if I don't wear it for a couple of days I have to unscrew the knob and reset the time and date. Drives me crazy. I realize I can buy a watch winder but that's just more unnecessary bull****. It is upside down value - pay more and get less. Reminds me of my Ferrari sometimes. My Tag is always ready to go and keeps really good time. The only time I have to touch it is the date thing after a month with 30 and DST twice a year. So much simpler. It is the F1 blackface model. Cool watch. I guess you like what you like.
I am glad I ran across this thread and ordered mine when I did last month. There are no more available on that website. I am guessing the yellow face version will pop up soon over there now that they have seen how fast the red and black ones sold out.
it seems to be sold out btw about the one with the red face. Are they numbered? Because they said it was limited and numbered on the back of it. But mine wasn't
Mine isn't numbered either - but this one looks as if it is - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290060966093&ssPageName=ADME:B:TB18:UK:1 Nathan
I just got off the phone with UPS Customs and passed on your info, J/K. They said they send out the assesment invoice after the goods are received. I guess this is normal?
I have a question for those who have already received their watches. UPS will not release/deliver my watch because they need the value break out of the item! Have any of you encountered this? I emailed FerrariStore (since I can't seem to find a telephone number) regarding this matter. I would appreciate any guidance with this latest setback. BTW, my watch arrived in Kentucky on 12-8-06.
My Tag "dive watch" died after a trip down the Ocoee (and I stayed in the boat, didn't hit anything) within two years of getting it. So I have to adjust my Rolex once a month, still ticking after 12 years...
