AHHH! :) Seemed rough there for a while, but Chicago's going to Miami!! ;)
Good stuff.... kind of like when my Eagles were at 5-6 with McNabb out I said "We'll be lucky to win another game this season." Then I watch them run off 6 straight wins. "Insanity" is the only word I can think of to describe this NFL season. Every time I thought I had it figured out something went haywire. The only thing that turned out as expected was seeing the Patriots in the AFC Championship game AGAIN. But good game Bears, I hate the Saints, glad to see they were crushed like an Old Style can.
My take on the Superbowl: Running game favors the Bears and passing game the Colts. Offense on both sides will be pretty even with this imo. The Bears pass-rush will put pressure on Peyton to make some mistakes and the Bears are good at forcing turnovers. The Bears offense will be against a good secondary, but as long as Rex can get those deep balls to connect, he'll be fine. He just needs his OL to give him time in the pocket. It'll be an even match up on both sides of the ball imo since the Bears' secondary is not strong at all. The key: special teams. The Colts were terrible today. Horrendous. The Bears? We know how they are. Devin Hester will get great field position for the Bears if not a score. Plus, he's a Miami Hurricane and he'll be playing in his hometown and feel right at home.
First off... DA BEARS ! IMO, Lovie and Ron Turner, ran the offensive game plan in a very good fashion, not-typical for this season, but what I have been yelling for all along. Higher percentage of running plays, with some misdirection, reverses and delays. Keep their defense on the field and pound them. IMO, Lovie and Ron Rivera, made all the right moves early, in abandoning their defense as usual for the season, and getting even more aggressive than usual, nailing and pressuring Brees, into making atypical mistakes. I hope they will stick to this type of plan for the Colts, if so IMHO, they will have a decisive win. To some friends, I predicted 31-10 (21 pts) for the Bears-Saints, I guess I wasn't too far off 39-14 (25 pts). For the Superbowl - I am going to say 33-17 BEARS !
Me is still smilin away. Cheeks are actually hurting a bit. The media has 2 full weeks this time to get on the Bears nerves this time!
Although we watched it on a tiny 42" plasma, it was still fun. Thanks for the invite Haley, sorry I already had plans......and keep on smilin'!!
Two full weeks to praise Peyton Manning and bash Rex. Man...the Bears will come in as huge underdogs and fired up ready to tear it up! I can't wait. Go Bears!

One comment on the fist part of this post: Please tell me you saw the Saints/Eagles game after Bush got hit with a dumptruck in the chest...did he look small after he got up from that? the guy is ripped like Jesus and out of his mind. Don't say that he can't be the only RB for a team because he has been and obviously it wasn't that bad to him. *cough*heisman*cough*
My prediction was pretty much dead on. Brees and the Saints moved to the passing game. Deuce had only 6 touches iirc. I saw that hit Reggie took against the Eagles, I was lmfao, hahah. He got up, but went back on all fours crawling, lol. Huh??? I'm not saying he will be bad, he's used to the two RB type deal from USC with LenDale. Who btw is almost exactly the same exact size as Deuce. The NFL is moving toward the two-RB system imo. Maybe he can handle it all by himself, but he's used to pairing with LenDale and now Deuce so I'm not 100% certain about him like you see to be... At USC: 2003: LenDale, 728 rushing yards. Reggie, 480 rushing yards. 2004: LenDale, 1103 rushing yards. Reggie, 908 rushing yards. 2005: LenDale, 1302 rushing yards. Reggie, 1740 rushing yards. At NO: 2006: McAllister, 1057 rushing yards. Reggie, 565 rushing yards. He's been "the only RB" on his team? Where you been the past 3 years man! Looks like a two-RB system from USC like he has a NO. Edit: And his Heisman maybe be taken back if he accepted that money. And I just checked your profile. You may have been too young at the time to be keeping track of the Reggie-LenDale double headed monster at USC for the past few years.
Wish I was back there with you guys to experience the excitement that is Da Bears! Nowhere out here to get in the spirit to watch the game. I might go down to the Portillo's in Buena Park, but they don't have any TV sets!
21 years have passed since the Bears last won the SuperBowl. 21 years have passed between MS' first title with Ferrari and Jody Scheckter's last. Coincidence?
