It's real. ANY 348 tb/ts could be converted to a challenge spec racer. There were certain regulations and this may have a few additional upgrades. They all maitained a street title. I don't see the carbon wing or roll cage. The door panels are not 355's, but 348's with the center strakes removed. Appears quite worn! Run like heck! Only in '94 did Ferrari make and import 45 factory 348 challenge's.
Looks fine to me too, you can tell just by the engine pic that its real. Those wal-mart floor mats do need to go though.
fair deal for 30k...would bet it would make a great track car for that price...no mention of NOS....wonder what the buttons on the steering wheel are for...
Ha Ha! I agree I believe real Challenge Cars have mounting points for the roll cage inside. But Dr.T says it's not a real Challenge car, but certainly looks like a real 348. With a few hidden surprises I'd bet.
well i think it look s a right mess! didnt know challenge cars had interiors like that? thought they were alcantara and carbon and not much else?
Look at the back, it's look like a 355 with a total front of the 348. To me this is a total fake car. In other words a custom kit-car
I've seen another 348 Challenge in person and it looked almost identical to this car, except the one I saw had a carbon fiber race wing. The interior was the same, I dont think they switched to alcantra and carbon until the 355 challenge. and thoe steering wheel buttons are for the horn.
looks like one big mis match to me or an unfinished project. maybe im confusing it with the competizione cars???
Anyone who uses gigantic shields as those is trying to emphasize that it is a Ferrari... to me that's a red flag! PS. Those are good size shields if Ferrari made Semi trucks!
Not a question of real or fake. Certainly a 348. Just a question of how much of the 348 Challenge kit it has.
It's not a factory built challenge car. There were only 45 (13ts's) made and only in '94. The factory built cars came with mounting points pre welded into the foor. You can tell because the carpet was cut out and trimmed nicely. I said it looks like a real challenge car. ANY 348 could be converted to race in the challenge series. The roll bar mounts had to be welded in. I believe there were 50+ or so cars converted to race between '94 and '96. This car has had some modifications since it was raced. Those mods would not have met true challenge rules.
Here's the interior of a true "factory" challenge #4 of 32. It was raced in the '96 series Image Unavailable, Please Login
why do you race a car with full interiors etc? i cant get my head round that... you could shed loads of xs weight by making it F40esque surely...
