Guy's, Have any f.chat members used midland ferrai to buy a car. I have been trying to buy/agree a deal with them for a few weeks now. Frist they agreed to take my 348 in p/ex but then advised me to sell it privatly which i did. They also offerd me a deal which i have emailed and agreed twice now but no reply from my emails, but the 360 is still for sale on all the web sites. I know they dont own the stock but have been disappointed with the lack of response.
Yea thats Hollingworth ferrari isnt it. Some have used them on here. Here is the link http://www.midland-ferrari.co.uk/
Please don't take this the wrong way but have you rung them - you don't mention doing so recently and one thing I've learnt over the years is that dealers aren't always very good at answering emails
Yes i have been to see them some weeks ago.We went out in the 360 and then discussed a deal. my last phone call was sell the 348 alan and then we can sort out a deal. So as they were engaged i emailed them twice. But no reply.
Yes i think you are right, but you would think that having 60k+ to spend and having seen the car and discussed a deal they would want my money.
Alan my name is Steve Palmer i am a co owner of hollingworths, we have not met because i am based at our workshop in hartlebury looking after that side of our buisness. In light of what you have said i feel it only fair for me to respond to your comments. The situation is not as clear cut as you would have people believe, we would love to sell you the car but the fact remains you are not entitled to buy it for the money you are offering. I will call you tomorrow and gladly discuss the situation, alternatively please feel free to call me on my workshop number 01299 250880
Hi Steve, hope you are well, welcome to Fchat Nice to get the other side of the story too. FWIW I have dealt with Hollingworth and Steve in particular for a couple of years and always found him to be an excellent guy to deal with, I wouldnt go anywhere else TBH.
There's a thread over on Pistonheads re. dealers and email. The dealers think people who email are timewasters, and the punters think that dealers who BS over the phone because nothing is in B+W are timewasters. Everybody is a timewaster. http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=358369&f=23&h=0
Interesting. Personally, I think its a generational thing. Guys, oooh, 30-ish and below prefer e-mail, older guys are more 'old school' and prefer to pick up the phone. For me, it would be an e-mail followed by a call. Its rare that you get the desired response from an e-mail alone. Just my 2p's worth.
Similar experience to AJF. Tried to buy a black 550 at top money from them last year. It was the exact spec I required so I was keen for a deal. Told the chap I had cash, discussed price and then had to chase hard to discuss further. In the end they didn't return my calls and I gave up. Not great news if you were the vendor. Eventually bought a Rosso 550 from Dick Lovett who were superb.
Purchased a 348 off midland ferrari about 12 mths ago, they also sold my TVR on my behalf. They did all they said they would do !!! Car is due for a sevice soon, so i will see what their after sales is like....keep you all posted.
